Some of the data is unavailable for two of Baylor's closeout games (1959 & 1960 vs. Detroit), but in the other 11 games, he had excellent efficiency.

30.3 ppg, 50.4 FG%, 71.1 FT%, 54.6 TS%

KD should be 2nd even if AI has more PPG. He probably took 30 shots to get there.

Elimination game is when the opponent has a series clinching game against you.

Points are available in every game though and you got only 30.3 for Baylor? Or is it 30.3 not including the two games you mentioned.

I know Laz posted Wilt's series clinching stats before. I'll try to find it.

Sorry we are talking about KD who is playing a real team in a real conference. You want no pressure? Look towards people playing in the Eastern Conference.

Actually I got 29.8 for Baylor in looking at points only. I also got 34.3 for Iverson. What exactly is their definition of "series clinching" game?

Any game in which if your team wins they advance i believe. so if you're team is up 3-2 game 6 is still a series clincher even if your team loses.

Series clinching has to mean you have a chance to eliminate a team.

So lets say Kobe's Lakere are up 3-0.

Game 4 would be an elimination game. So would game 5 if they lost game 4, and so would game 6 if they lost game 5, and game 7 if they lost game 6.

Basically whenever that player's team is one game away from advancing, the next game is an elimination game or at least that's what it should be.

First rounds were a best of 5 before 2003 so keep that in mind I guess.

This means ESPN is incorrect, just making up numbers and misinforming the public. Durant's scoring average not including tonight's game is 31.9 ppg.

My mistake, it is actually defined as any game where the team has a chance to close the series out. I was just looking at the games won.

This graphic explains it as potential series clinching games.

How is it "frontrunning" or no pressure when if his team lost there's a game 7? Plus you need to take care of business as early as possible because you never know, injuries could happen with more games played and also it's better to get more rest and not be worn down by a 7 game series. Stupid Bran fans :facepalm

why do people keep asking this? :lol

any game with the chance of advancing... so 3-0, 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3....

and for clarity, elimination game is any game with the possibility of beign eliminated..

so 0-3, 1-3, 2-3, and 3-3... game 7 is both.

No. Elimination is when you win or go home. "Series Clinching" is more like when you're team is up 3-1 in the series and your team wins the 4th game (heat vs nets the other night) to closeout the series. The only way the two could be equal is if both teams were tied 3-3, then that 7th game would be both a closeout and series clinching.

I know Laz posted Wilt's series clinching stats before. I'll try to find it.

Here are Wilt's combination of series clinching and must-win post-season games:

Wilt actually played in 37 "elimination games",...games where either his team faced elimination, or could have clinched the series:

1. W: 53-22-2, 24-42 FG/FGA

2. W: 50-35-2, 22-42

3. L: 26-24-0, 8-18

4. L: 33-23-1, 13-29

5. W: 56-35-1, 22-48

6. W: 32-21-1, 12-29

7. L: 22-22-3, 7-15

8. W: 39-30-?, 19-29

9. L: 30-27-2, 12-28

10. W: 38-26-5, 14-22, 10 blks (Triple-Double)

11. W: 30-26-4, 13-22, 13 blks (Triple-Double)

12. L: 30-32-2, 12-15

13. L: 46-34-?, 19-34

14. W: 18-27-9, 7-14

15. W: 29-36-13, 10-16, 7 blks (Triple-Double)

16. W: 24-23-4, 8-13

17. W: 25-27-3, 10-19

18. L: 28-30-7, 11-21

19. L: 20-27-8, 6-21

20. L: 14-34-5, 4-9

21. W: 11-25-1, 5-9

22. W: 16-29-3, 5-11, 16 blks (Triple-Double)

23. L: 8-18-4, 1-5

24. L: 18-27-3, 7-8

25. W: 36-14-3, 12-20

26. W: 12-26-11, 4-11, 11 blks (Quad-Double)

27. W: 30-27-6, 11-18, 11 blks (Triple-Double)

28. W: 45-27-3, 20-27

29. L: 21-24-4, 10-16

30. W: 25-19-9, 7-12

31. L: 23-12-4, 10-21

32. W: 8-31-8, 4-6

33. W: 20-24-2, 8-12, 10 blks (Triple-Double)

34. W: 24-29-4, 10-14, 8 blks

35. W: 21-28-4, 10-17, 8 blks

36. W: 5-22-7, 2-2

37. L: 23-21-3, 9-16

W-L : 24-13

Here were Wilt's averages in those 37 games:

29.5 ppg

26.1 rpg

4.2 apg (missing one game)

.546 FG% (in post-seasons that shot about .440 on average in that span.)

Keep in mind that 24 of those 37 games came after his "scoring seasons" (59-60 thru 65-66)
