They played:

Lakers w/o Kobe
Warriors without Lee
Grizzlies who struggle to score (sweep)

That is honestly a much easier road than the Heat's current road (Bobcats, Nets, Pacers). Even last years was harder for the Heat (Bulls/Pacers)

If you actually look at the level of comp you'd sound like you have a case. But the teams that the West champ have faced have been much tougher then the Heat have played. Only the conference finals opponents for Miami have given them a true challenge except for Chicago really. Where as the WC teams faced teams that probably would've made the second round in the East all those years.

Last year, the Spurs went through the shitty ass no-D Lakers without Kobe, the extremely mediocre and no-D Warriors (the Bucks were 12th defensively and the Warriors were 14th), and the team with no offense.

Miami went through two physical series against the best and the 6th best defenses in the NBA, only to face the 3rd best defensive team in the Finals.
