I prefer someone who is professional, sharp, and is clearly enjoying the game. Right now both networks have a good stable of play-by-play guys. Its the color commentators that are very hit and miss. Altho a couple weeks ago nbatv had some random play-by-play guy who was just dreadful, cant remember his bame but he had absolutely no sense of the moment, even as the excitement of the game was piquing.

I find them both incredibly annoying. I don't like anything about either one of them. I think both of them are very cheesy, though not necessarily in an over the top way. Tirico is just annoying, his voice, his personality, his commentating, his attempts to be funny, he's overly self righteous and pretentious to me. I find it annoying when he gets excited about plays on the court, it's OK to do that but I just don't like how he does it. I don't really know how to explain why, he's just annoying when he starts yelling after an exciting play. I also find him to be semi-effeminate to be honest. I wish I had a better way to describe the things I don't like about him, but I just find him extremely annoying.

Mike Breen I dislike mainly because of his incessant need to constantly praise whatever superstars are playing that night, he's constantly going out of his way to praise their every move. His spends the entire game kissing their ass. He comes off as a groupie on air. His comedic attempts are also cheesy and annoying.

No I don't prefer that type of commentator you mentioned either. I prefer a more even keeled announcer with actual basketball intelligence and knowledge of the game. I prefer the NFL guys, they are far less annoying, are much more knowledgeable, straight forward and even keeled. ESPN just seems to find a way to find the most annoying people possible.

I like the TNT guys much better, except for Reggie Miller, who is brainless and annoying as well.
