Wilt (many times), and Gilmore for sure.

Other's have blocked it, but it was usually still in Kareem's hand when they did.

Did Eaton, Hakeem, Nate, or Sampson ever pull it off at or near the top?

There is footage of Hakeem and even a 6-8 Bill Willoughby blocking Kareem's sky hook, but again, the ball was basically still in Kareem's hand when they did it.

Did Sampson ever get there at its apex?

That gif cracks me up every time i watch it, those guys were monsters! Modern medicine, evolution of the game and all that, those guys look so much better than our centers today. When will we get truly elite big men again?

You already saw Peak Dwight Howard...Not Wilt or Kareem's tier but probably 2nd tier......Demarcus Cousins is gonna be a great scorer and Drummond is next up has the NBA's next best 2-way center.

Davis will be better than Drummond. All Drummond has on Davis atm is physical presence and offensive rebounding. Davis will be a 20/10 PF for the next 10 years and may be like Garnett and play some C

Without goaltending? I have seen Wilt do it once but the rest were all goaltending.

One of them is goaltend.

Man look at that shake and footwork. No one today can even come close doing that.

First of all, that second block was NOT a goal-tend.

Secondly, that was Wilt who was 35 years old, 300+ lbs, and playing on a surgically repaired knee. Just how many sky hooks would a PRIME athletic Wilt, in the mid-60's, have been knocking all over the gym?

Incidently THAT Wilt had a KNOWN 15 blocks against Kareem, just in the '72 WCF's. Are we to assume that NONE of those were sky-hooks? And if so, how come Kareem was shooting them then, and not his sky hook, which he used probably 60%+ of the time in his career? He would have been an idiot to take anything but the sky hook, if Wilt wasn't capable of blocking it.

Pretty sure David Thompson did.

He blocked a Walton shot in the '74 NCAA semi's...

Wilt and Kareem battled in 28 career H2H games.

I believe Julizaver's research has Wilt with a KNOWN 29 blocks on Kareem, and just in SEVEN of them (or 1/4th.) Now, just how many of those 29 were sky-hooks? And secondly, how many more Wilt blocks were there in their 21 other H2H games?

Early '70s, possibly the greatest era of the NBA - certainly the best as far as Centers (my downslope view of Shaq, for example, has always been his lame donkey-like competition).

Dominated, of course, by my Knicks.

Those Knick teams were the Spurs of the 70's...
