lol @ the carling cup final. Probably one of the least meaningless competitions in the world.


I think a good comparison would be the 2011 Mavs where they triumphed and kicked some ass while being the underdogs. Embarrassed the Lakers, managed the younger and athletic Thunder and outclassed the Heat in style.

dont watch nfl or baseball but from football porto and greece in 2004 and mavs in 2011 in the nba are the only one that come close..

I cant see Real Madrid losing.

Atletico match up better against Barcelona than they do against RM.

Maybe Liverpool in 2005 and Chelsea in 2012. I think that's on the same level as Mavs 2011.

there wasnt a big drop off in talent between the teams in the knockout stage back in the mid 00s thats why teams like porto and liverpool won it.. right now its pretty ridiculous that teams like dortmund and atletico make it this far.. just shows how important a great coach+ effort from the players is

The difference is that Atletico did in the CL AND the League. Dortmund only did it in CL. They were, what, 20+ points after Bayern last year.
