Which is gonna be more bad for LeBron's legacy?
1) Losing to Dallas and the 4th quarter no-shows in 2011?
2) Losing to Indiana this year?

Dallas, this shouldn't be an argument. Back then he was the best player in the league and he choked. Lebron is now declining and is no longer the best player. As he fades away into obscurity no one will bat an eye when he loses to the Pacers.

The loss to Dallas was huge.
It had the potential to keep Lebron ringless and could have lead to the big three breaking up the year after (if they lost again the following year) and then Lebron's legacy would have been terrible.
Right now though, if Miami loses, Lebron is 2/4 in Miami which isn't too bad.

Nothing has changed, he's still the best player

perfect response, the fact that heat fans are expecting to lose and preparing excuses already (lebron not enough help, OKC and the refs too much...) tells you what you need to know

This. Also, not so much the fact that he lost to Dallas, but his unexplainable performance.
I think most people expect Miami to beat Indy, and losing against them would be very disappointing, but back-to-back titles is still a great feat, and that atrocious 2011 series vs Dallas will always be the the "black mark" on his resume, and I don't think he can possibly play as bad as he did against Dallas. If Miami does lose this series, I think it'll mainly end up being because they just got handled by a tough opponent, but that 2011 loss falls solely on LeBron. He basically checked out after Game 2 and became a mental midget, stopped playing the way that had helped Miami roll through the playoffs and as a result, Miami's 2011 championship went down the drain against a team everyone expected them to beat. Just an incredibly dreadful performance by a player with top 5 all-time potential that will be hard to ignore.

Why would his legacy be crushed after losing one game to the Pacers?

Pacers have HCA.. and no way in hell the Heat are losing this year. Typical overreaction ISH thread.
Game 2 is in the bag for the Heat. :pimp:
Oh really? Do you know the winning numbers for next weeks lottery? What else does your crystal ball tell you?

And then, before the next season started, Wade said it was LeBron's team now. Guess what happened??? Two championships in a row.
LeBron played great through those 2011 playoffs. Before the finals started I guess he and Wade decided that Wade was going to lead and try to get one more Finals MVP. James held back so Wade could shine brighter. It bit them in the ass.

It is ****ing crazy that every season Lebron doesn't win a title it's considered damaging to his legacy. Dallas was damaging because of how it happened not that it happened.

When you guarantee seven championships and collude with two other all-stars, yes, your legacy will take a hit when you don't win.

Yet his contract was only for 6yrs with many player options.

The Dallas thing was worse.
What would is fascinating...is that for all the Lebron love going on. If they lose this series or don't win this year.
They will have won 2 titles in 4 years...and looking to be only worse in the future.
The over under on titles for this team through 5 years is 2.5....at least. Other franchises have three peated and if this Heat team wants to be known on that level. They need to win 3 titles in 5 years...as obviously they aren't going to have a Spurs type run with this group.
If they don't win this year or next....the Heat era will be viewed as a failure historically.

2 titles are a failure?
So are teams like the bad boy pistons failures too

Context please.
You put together Wade/Lebron/Bosh in one of the weakest conferences in NBA history for 4 years...
And only get two titles in 4 years? I wouldn't say failure, but it wouldn't be anything special to be honest.

It was a pep rally, yo.
If you took him serious, then that's a you problem.
Oh, you dont have to worry about Lebrons legacy my man.... with his accolades/achievements etc. he is perfectly comfortable in top 10, no matter what happens next can erase that.... he can already retire and be happy..... he is fine....
I would suggest worrying more about your Pacers legacy instead seeing as they have 0 NBA championships....

Seven championships guarantee!? Haha, have i missed something? You maybe are one of those illiterate cynics who loves to misinterpret:
"Lebron, you guys came here to win one championship? Not one but..."
"Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, not eight, not nine, not ten, not eleven, not, not 1.000.000........... *laughs* no but if we play up to our standards we truly believe we can win multiple championships"
...and oh, what player of his caliber DIDNT collude with other all-stars to win championships? That "colluding" happens one way or the other unfortunately, whether its trade, free-agency etc.....
