Melo has two second team selections, 7 all-star appearances and a scoring title. That's it. Durant is way ahead of him.

Westbrook vs Melo?, WB has a far greater post season resume.

Does Melo's place in the all-time ranks really matter enough to ask this question?

This must be a joke thread

Durant is headed down the path of greatness a la Jordan, Kobe etc. Melo is a useless chucker who will never win anything

Of course,

0 ring, 0 MVP, 0 FMVP, 0 ROY, 0 DPOY, 0 All NBA 1st Team, 1 Scoring Title

isn't very hard to pass:oldlol:

I really want Melo to go somewhere good to shut the haters up. He gets so much undeserved hatred.

How is it hating to say KD has surpassed him career wise? Or maybe you mean on ISH in general? Then I agree, people expect everyone to be top 20 all-time greats just because they get a max contract.

melo gets hate when ppl like OP overrate him. he is a great amazing player, but the truth is that melo is like a cp3 v2. very little playoff sucess, and people will never fully appreciate him until he does something relevant. some bad career decisions and a lack of luck maybe, but thats how things go.
KD is a legend in the making, and in his third season managed to tie melo's accolades(maybe even surpass).

melo is a great player, but he isnt on the same level as bran and kd.

Melo should sign with LA this offseason and link up with Kobe, Love, and Exum.

Yeah. Unlike Melo, KD got refs in his genetics. It's something Melo simply cannot match.

Lol no he doesn't.

Yeah he does.

Melo has played in 66 career postseason games in his 11 year career. Westbrook has played in 58 (and counting, minimum 4 more unless he gets injured) in his 6 year career. That includes (or subtracts, I guess) last year where he only accounted for 2 games because of his injury. He would have already surpassed Melo in playoff games played if all things stayed the same last year. And you and I both know it wouldn't, ie Thunder would have beat Memphis.

This will be Westbrook's third Conference Finals appearance. Melo had made one.

He's been the NBA Finals. Melo hasn't.

You can say Melo was the #1 and Westbrook is the #2. That's fair, I guess. Although I take playoff resume as partially a team accomplishment thing. Fisher has a better "playoff resume" than practically every active player in the NBA. But sure, Melo was the #1.

Look at their playoff averages and Melo scores a basket more, their rebounding is practically identical, and Westbrook dishes out significantly more assists. Westbrook is more efficient from the field and the line. Melo got the 3. That is Westbrook's averages not taking into account this year, where his averages are higher in every single category than his playoff averages before this season. They play different positions so I won't count the apg against Melo. The rebounding tho?

Westbrook's current numbers (his best post season run yet) would be Melo's second best, maybe? 30/8.5/3 on 46% vs 26/8/5.5 on 42%. And that's with Melo having the benefit of being the #1.

The only argument anyone can make for Melo is that he took his Nuggets to the WCF one year as the man. I think everything Westbrook has done to this point, in almost half the years, with similar or surpassing numbers trumps that.

How is the OP overrating him? This thread that he created is a silent Melo hating thread. His only sentence was "I think so".

would melo have one title if not for kobe? cuz we cannot forget how close the nuggets were to reach the finals in 09, and i think he would've beaten that magic squad too.

Melo just chilling with this fat contact in NY, getting loved from NYorkerks and he has more vacation because no playoffs. So basicaly he is working less than LB/Durant etc , gets paid more and people in NYork appreciate him more.

Melo living the dream in a nice City while the others work 24/7 getting paid less ( not to mention that Durant lives in a shitty place aswell. At least LeCrab is in Miami) so they can have more rings.

It is basically like the difference between tmac and kobe. 1 player had the benefit of some very stacked teams, while the other has suffered on some really bad/ mediocre teams and never really gotten the chance to prove themselves.
