They have easily been one of the most entertaining teams to watch since the 2012 season, what is wrong with you people? Still stuck in 2007 I see.

I'm not into Tim Duncan bank shots and tony Parker tear drop floaters. Team has been the most boring team in the league for a decade+

Then you're not a fan of basketball.
Sadly you must either be a troll, homer, or one of these kids who cheers for the name on the back of a jersey.

How can you think it's boring? They play the game as it should be played, as a team. Their fundamentals, ball movement and team defense is second to none.

They use to be boring. 2012-on they are exciting.

the spurs arent boring... its the united states and their lack of interest for a euro style team. they cant relate to anyone on the spurs.. or nearly anyone.
its the same reason why nobody watches heavyweight boxing anymore... its dominated by 2 russions
if the spurs best player wasnt a frenchman.. they would have more fans
americans hate the french
and well i guess duncans a bit boring. but after him the spurs are fun to watch

They haven't been boring (at least in the traditional sense) since 2007.
Sure, the halfcourt days with Duncan probably weren't that pleasurable for most viewers, but I think that reputation has just carried over.

Watching Boris Diaw post up over and over isn't fun. No matter who you are. I'm sorry, it just isn't.
Just because it's the "correct basketball play" or "fundamentally sound" doesn't make it the most exciting play or the most fun play. Don't be obtuse.
If you are telling me you'd be willing to pay hundreds of dollars to watch Boris Diaw awkwardly back down and post up all game, you're a liar.

I think it's just that front runner type of fans just don't appreciate a well-orchestrated offense & fundamentally sound team. Majority of the the NBA's fan base are posers, posing to be Mr./Mrs. Know everything, but really, all they see are guys running around, dribbling the ball, & shooting it. There's a lot of them on Twitter & Facebook, but they usually shut up when I post. lelz. And they're usually Heat fans. Just saying. lol
The gist of my post is, you know you're a true fan when you appreciate a team like the Spurs by heart. & ONLY YOU YOURSELF KNOW, IF YOU'RE LYING TO YOURSELF OR NOT by posing to be liking them. But of course, there's going to be those people that dislikes them for other reasons (Duncan/Kobe debate, Robert Horry/Nash incident), but for this -- I'm only talking about the ones that finds them boring & gives all these reasons why they're boring & saying that they suck & etc.
I usually just ignore them & just move on even though it baffles me. What are you gonna do? You can't fix stupid.
I've said this before & I'm gonna say it again: I'm rooting for the Spurs because the Lakers aren't in the Playoffs, & so, for old times sake, I want to see the Spurs succeed & get Duncan his 5th ring. I could careless about the Kobe/Duncan debate -- I MISS MY CHILDHOOD & that's all I care about. Growing up watching them just dominate. Duncan, Kobe & Shaq. Spurs/LAL.
Just wow.

You are talking like if Diaw was Spurs first option.
Watching their ball movement and Parker and Ginobili atack the rim is fun to watch.

Okay fine. But I'm telling you, there was a stretch where they posted Diaw up like... three plays in a row.
That's almost as bad to watch as the Hack-a-whoever strategy (which the Spurs frequently like to employ).
If you don't see why those two things are a) boring and b) turnoffs to more casual NBA fans, then you're being obtuse.

They posted Diaw up 3 plays in a row because they saw a mismatch. It's called smart basketball. Spurs rarely post up Diaw like that with a solid post defender.

I can see why boris posting up is not that exciting, just saying that that is not a huge part of Spurs basketball. Today they did it quite a bit because the matchup was there.

I like watching Duncan put fundamentals to work. Outside of him, Parker, Ginobli, Leonard, and Green are pretty damn fun to watch.

Most people are sheep. They just repeat what they hear others say/do without thinking independently or critically.
Okay fine. But I'm telling you, there was a stretch where they posted Diaw up like... three plays in a row.
If I recall correctly, OKC had much smaller players on him each time. Of course the smart play when the 6'3 Reggie Jackson is guarding the 6'8 Diaw would be to get him in the post and let him work, and I think he scored every time. That's called good coaching.
But Diaw chucking an exciting fadeaway 3 under those circumstances is what the ignorant mob wants.

You really can't fix stupid.
If you find them boring, then that makes you not a true fan. A true fan appreciates the art of a fundamental-first team/player etc. You may find them boring because they're not flashy enough with their dunks or what not. There's nothing wrong of being not a true fan, it's just that you can't say that you're a true fan because of what you just stated. You can tell yourself that you're a true fan, but we both know you're not.
There are no higher grounds here, it's just that you belong in a different group of fans.

Spurs themselves aren't boring to watch.
It's just boring watching Pop effortlessly and consistently taking apart the opposing coach, and their team as a whole destroying people with simple ball movement and positioning. There is no wasted possessions for the Spurs, sometimes it feels like I am spectating a professional NBA team smashing an amateur High School squad.
I have been watching Scott Brooks operate for 3 years, and I just can not understand how guys like him still have a job. How can there be so much gap between coaches. Why can't anyone learn from Pop? :(

anyone that says the spurs are boring to watch is an idiot. this is not just recently. this is for the past 15 years...
- manu + parker, two of the most exciting players in the game (drives, passes, dunks, fancy layups and reverses)
- 3 point barrage (the real REAL splash brothers)
and if back pre-2012, they ran and played up with phoenix, the warriors, and dallas scoring in the 120-130s games...
Literally, anyone that says the Spurs are boring, do not watch basketball, and heck, they DONT PLAY basketball themselves. how can u NOT appreciate the team play and getting your teammates open looks

They say they're boring because they're not Prime Wade/Lebron/Kobe/VC fancy. smh
I jizz my pants every time Timmy takes a wild 3 before, that's fancy enough for me.

They are not boring because they ARE ACTUALLY BORING. They are boring because of their reputation of being boring by ESPN -- aka these peoplle don't actually WATCH NOR PLAY basketball.
Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are two of the most exciting players within the past decade -- are they boring?
- dunks
- passes
- reverse layups
- circus shots
what's not to love? not even going to touch on the 3 point clinic they put on...

Yea also McHale, that Knicks coach. So many clueless coaches, makes no sense how there are only like 2-5 good coaches and rest are garbage. How is it even possible?

His 3pt% was slightly below average, but damn, he makes it rain when it counted the most.

Now that they retooled for a more uptempo style they are entertaining.

spurs offense is amazing, IDK what people mean when they say the spurs are boring.
The ball movement, the interior passing resulting in layups. The drives to the basket. the kickouts for threes
Most dynamic offense today.

'05 Finals was the best I ever watched. Two grind-it-out, defense-beats-offense monsters going at it.
I know a lot of people hated it though. :oldlol:
