Jordan played with the greatest coach and greatest defensive player ever against old jazz, old sonics, old lakers, and weak teams like blazers or anti defense suns in the finals.

Jordan should be number 1

And Kobe is not in the top 10.

He's never won an MVP on a GOOD TEAM... meaning NEVER had a completel season where he wins MVP and leads a team to about 60 wins and in contention of title.

All the top 10 players should have that.

I saw Kareem get thoroughly owned a few times in the Playoffs. Once by Fo Fo Fo MR. Moses Malone... Completely out hustled him under the boards and out rebounded him along with 20ppg.

Also saw Hakeem and Sampson do a number on him once or twice.

and?

those guys arent in competition with kareem all time

save the individual random matchup discussions for more comparable people

kareem has by far the most accomplished basketball resume

college goat
nba goat
basketball goat
most unstoppable offensive weapon
longest career
most points
most mvps ( back when they meant something - voted by players )
6 titles ( none from the wack 50's or 60's )

what more do you want

To not be owned by Hakeem, Moses and Sampson in head to head matchup.

It's the same reason why Shaq isn't ranked in the top 2 or 3.... Had he not been beaten by Hakeem so badly then he'd have 5 rings (1 rigged 06), but 5 Rings and 4 Finals MVP's.

All-time lists are subjective, there s no ''should be''.
He can put whoever he wants at #1.

If you look at ALL the factors, Jordan is the best.

There s no '' all factors''. It s subjective, a person can look at any criteria that he wants. It s his choice which criterias he wants to use to make his list. You can disagree with his choices, but there no right or wrong all-time list. Something subjective can never be right or wrong.

Yes, I understand that.

But his reasoning doesn't make any sense on quite a few levels.

First of all I can see he's a laker homer big time as he has 7 Lakers in the top 14 and 5 in the top 8 overall. SURE.... COME ON MAN

Also since he has Kareem number 1 and Magic 4....

But Larry Bird BEAT THEM BOTH in 1984 in the Finals...

That would easily make Bird number 1 actually. Being that he beat your 1 and 4 in while they were both in their primes.

To not be owned by Hakeem, Moses and Sampson in head to head matchup.

Kareem was 34 and 39 in those instances. He played during a tough era for centers. As a comparison, the best competition at SG MJ faced in the playoffs, outside of one series against Drexler, was Reggie Miller, John Starks, Jeff Hornacek, Craig Ehlo, and Nick Anderson.
