This problem isn't getting solved because we simply have too many sensitivity cowards in this country. People who don't want to DO anything, just want to be heard "saying" what's popular and progressive so they can fit in. Liberals in this country are like the daycare employee who's tied up in a chair with a rag in her mouth while all the kids are running around screaming and causing havoc, and she's so proud of herself that she wasn't like those mean old previous-generation nannies who were no fun and make the kids eat broccoli and do homework. These people are such cowards it's unreal to fathom. They're not action takers, and the media knows this so they've created a culture where the softer you are, the cooler you are, and the insecure youth of today have run with it. These kids EAT IT UP. They don't think for themselves, they don't think outside the box, they don't think in terms of reality, they just know the talking points and want to keep looking cool by repeating them. And it's a serious blow to the health of both specific communities and America as a whole.


Anyway, just wanted to come out of retirement to make that point.

I've seen hardened gangsters uncontrollably break down when they get sent down. Sane people absolutely fear it. Only the mentally unstable or borderline mentally disabled people don't fear prison.

I think rehab is a joke. Some people had a screwed up childhood....they are broken and are bound to mess up. Life isn't fair. But because they had a bad childhood doesn't mean they should be allowed to mess up the lives of 20+ people. I think getting offed should happen in a lot of cases. We value life way too much in the US...too much damn Hollywood.

I'd rather 50 hardened criminals get offed and use that same taxpayer money to help starving and poor children have better childhoods (so they don't turn into criminals).

Out of every 100 people that get locked up for serious stuff, i'd say maybe 3 or 4 are actually truly rehabbed and become "good" people. It's impossible for them....they come out and will be surrounded by friends that do criminal stuff.

I think encouraging voluntary sterilization is a better approach. But you would first have to take away the financial incentive for low income people to have kids before many would volunteer to undergo reproductive procedures.
