Landon Donovan, the greatest American player in history, has ended his international career. A lot of people in the world are shocked.

I just don't get it, I'd love to hear that it's a chemistry issue or something else because there's no way you're selling me on the notion that there isn't a job for him on this team. I understand we're making way for youth in Julian Green but Landy Cakes can't be a useful sub? I've never liked Landy, seems like a princess to me, but he is fearless in international games and as recently as WCQ was doing things that nobody else on our squad does. Past his prime? Yes. He won't, because there are no expectations from the US team anyway. If they don't get out of the group stage, it'll be normal and nobody will care. If they do, they will have overachieved. Win/win scenario, although this probably reduces their already slim chances.
