The Cleveland Cavaliers hope they can lure LeBron James back to them by acquiring an elite player like Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge to pair with point guard Kyrie Irving, and the 2014 1st round pick, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
The Cavs have worked to repair their relationship with James since their acrimonious break almost four years ago when the MVP decided to join Miami.
James contract with the Heat goes through 2016, but he has the option to opt-out of the deal both this summer and during the summer of 2015.

Lebron is one of the luckiest athletes of all time. Possible 3 peat in miami, and then goes and redeems himself by joining a loaded team back home.
Shit would make a great story too :applause:

well, you can choose to believe me or not, i don't care.
I know a guy who is tied into upper management with the gilbert's casino and he has told me Gilbert, Grant, and Lebron's agent have met numerous times over the past 2 seasons regarding James' return.
Not saying its going to happen, but there have been serious discussions from James' camp on a possible return.
It's being considered but still an extreme long shot IMO.
Grant's plan all along was to woo james back, and a lot of people think TT was chosen at 4 as a way to appease James' agent.

I would not be shocked if he does to Miami what he did to Cleveland: keep them completely in the dark until the last second to screw their future.

one-sided comment...smh
if he chooses to opt-out, it obviously means he's testing free agency. how is Miami in the dark and Lebron screwing them over by this? Miami would be full aware, just as Cleveland was full aware. Whether Miami chooses to seek alternatives or hope n pray on Lebron re-signing (like CLE did ) is their risk.
nothing falls on Lebron at that point.

unlikely he pulls a stunt like that again. He admitted he made a mistake, and he's matured since then.
that's what most people don't get about the decision, it's one thing that it was really tacky and sh*tty, but the whole other element that people forget about is that he left the cavs completely in the dark. Melo, Howard, now Love all gave or are giving their franchises opportunities to get some value back.

If he won't grab a title this year, maybe...
But it would be a total shocker if he returned to Cleveland after a three-peat in Miami. Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever

:biggums:
1-he refused to resign a deal during the 2009-10 season
2-he indicated he would test free agency
3-Cavs did nothing with 1 & 2 happening, they sat back and wished
stop passing the blame
Cleveland cant be that dumb to say they needed Lebron to come out and say he's leaving, did they?

It was Cavs organisation fault, not Lebrons. I thought this issue was cleared years ago.

saying a guy wants to test free agency versus a guy who says he wants to leave are two very different things.

Stop with the revisionist history; the Cavs stated repeatedly during the 09-10 season they were not interested in any deals involving Bron and reports that came out during the summer of '10 stated they had no interest in a sign-and-trade. The Cavs either wanted to have Bron or nothing.
Don't believe me; read it for yourself >>> http://blogs.suntimes.com/bulls/2010/06/report_cavaliers_wont_offer_si.html
Why would the Cavaliers, or any team in that position, reward a departing player by enabling him to earn roughly an extra $30 million? Well, the main reason is it allows a team to get something in return instead of losing a player for nothing.
But according to an ESPN report, the Cavaliers don't intend to do a sign-and-trade with James. If he decides to leave, the report says Cleveland management will simply let him walk, leaving that extra cash on the table.

saying a guy wants to test free agency versus a guy who says he wants to leave are two very different things.
so you still sit back and hope he chooses you? there were obvious reasons he was on the market and didn't resign during the season, no? the Cavs had many shortcomings and the only move they made before Lebron decided to make his "decision" was fire Mike Brown.
if you ask me, the CLE organization shot themselves in the foot...the Cavs did NOTHING to retain Lebron, not one move at all. stop crying over how he left the city...he fulfilled his contract and that is ALL he was required to do.
