You summed up my thoughts exactly. I hear people talk about this shit all the time, but it sounds like it may be too much.
Would it be like e saying I like rock music, and then some friend brings you a bunch of underground German heavy metal dance shit to listen to. You're like , no no no, it's too much.

1. Essentially sites that are unaccessable without knowing the specific URL and/or a password
2. Use Tor or similar. You don't *have* to use Tor but not using Tor is analogous to going on a hooker f*cking spree with no condom. Tor is your digital condom.
3. no.

I'm thinking there may be a lot of snuff films.

why would any normal person need to use the deep web? Isn't there enough f*cked up sh*t on the regular internet?

Download Tor and give it a try. It's not scary at all.

Once you get Tor browser, close all other browsers/apps and open Tor. Navigate to here: http://kpvz7ki2v5agwt35.onion/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
That's the "Hidden Wiki" which is sort of just a directory of things you can find on the deep web. Since it's just a directory, you're safe. You can see the sort of things listed such as drugs, hitmen, but also a lot of tame topics like encyclopedias and video game groups and whatnot. Basically, kind of like the regular internet but completely anonymous (as long as you use Tor/proxy).

Yeah you don't find those on the regular internet usually.
Most of the dark web takes Bitcoin for payment.
