So I'm joking around and took a pic of my son who's 9 years old, sleeping, holding a bottle of Crown Royal. I post it on FB. Some liked, some laughed, some joked I'm a bad father.
Then my brother in law posts, "I don't like this, take it down NOW!" He's pissed!
Funny this is my son thought it was hilarious and my wife just gave me the eyes rolled my husband is such a dork look.

Is this really distasteful? It's not like we were doing shots. Is he overreacting and should I take it down?

Its fine to me.

As long as you're son views it as just something funny and goofy its cool.

But if he's thinking that it makes you think he is cool then it might be a problem. Thats prob why some of ur family is mad...they prob think ur son might get the wrong idea.

Not distasteful or offensive.

Some people just have to get butt hurt.

I posted a picture of my son on my FB when he was like a year and a half old, where he fell asleep while getting off the couch. So I put a bottle of Patron in his hand, took a picture and posted it up. People loved it.

Your brother-in-law is just being a butt hurt little bitch. Tell him to shut the fcuk up and mind his own damn business. I'm sure he'll rip is boyfriend's asshole open over this.

In that situation, I think you should always take it down.

I would talk with dude and anyone who asks you about why you did it, just tell them.

Not worth getting into e-drama even if you weren't wrong. It's ****ed up enough to demand someone take something down, but you should just end it there and take it down. Be like woh... sry bro. lol and he will look like an ass. Opposed to you.

The truth? It's not super terrible, but it is kind of low brow and I'd be a little unimpressed. If someone showed me the picture in private, I'd probably laugh, though.

Ask yourself this: if you knew a potential employer would see it, would you post it on your Facebook? What if you were running for a political office, would you post it on your Facebook?

It's worth considering before you post something.

Echoing the thread sentiments of telling your brother in law to go **** himself and worry about his own kids and life (if he has any/one).

I suggest you put one up with a *** in his mouth now, then one with a little baking powder around his nose while passed out and with dollar bill in his hand, another slumped over with a syringe next to his exposed arm, and another with a bong while wearing a rasta hat. Then make a collage, blow it up nice and big, and write 'Mind your own ****ing business (insert brother in laws name)' on the top and give it to him for his birthday.

I was doing a group project either in the 3rd or 4th grade it was probably on the subject of recylcling. I don't remember all the details but but I thought it would be funny if I pretended to drink out of an empty beer bottle in the video.

Needless to say the teacher didn't find it funny and she nearly failed us on the project.

In most of the world children having a little alcohol is not at all taboo. Of course, no child is encouraged to go on a binge drinking tear, but having a spot of vodka or saki or whatever is not uncommon on occasion......

Or when you want the kid to sleep :lol

Jailblazers7
05-27-2014, 12:44 PM
I think I'd personally be a bit nervous that this might give the kid a bad idea about the social status of alcohol but he's gonna get all the peer pressure he can handle once he hits high school anyway. I prob wouldn't be happy in your brother in laws shoes either but I wouldn't be confronting you about it.

A 9 year old is getting up there... Might be a reality in 6-7 years

Crown&Coke
05-27-2014, 01:08 PM
It's your own kid, the only two people who are allowed to make a fuss are you and the child's mother. And it seems those two people realize it is a funny, not an indictment on the kid or his character

BUT, it if was Vodka, I would be disappoint. Since it's Crown, I like your taste.

Your bro-in-law needs to chill, it isn't his kid. If it was his kid, I can understand even if I don't agree. Now I wouldn't go ahead and respond on FB because some nutjobs go wild on the internet and it probably isn't in anyone's best interest to let the world see the back and forth. I would tell him nicely it's my FB page and my child. If he presses the issue I would tell him again not so nicely

How? The logical connection is not there. A child could easily have a few sips of alcohol and fall asleep. No one with sense would think the child an alcoholic.

You only think 'alcoholism' because you were an alcoholic, and as a consequence you have a perverted mind.
