With a very weak talent pool as well.

Eye test is telling me at least 12.

would he still team up with all the best players in his conference, or no?

Not sure about an eight team league with a "very weak talent pool", since that has never occurred in NBA history, but I can tell you this much, the Lakers of the 60's were loaded with as much talent as the Heat of the last four seasons, and they failed to win ONE. In fact, there 66-67 team, which had a prime West and a near-prime Baylor (very close to the equivalent of a prime Lebron and a near prime Wade), and with a roster that was filled with future stars (including HOFer Gail Goodrich), went 36-45, and were swept in the first round.

So, unless Lebron would have signed with the Celtics in the 60's, he likely would have won zero.

Wilt was much better than Lebron, and how many rings did he win? It would certainly depend on the team makeup, but I would still bet on Rus to win over LBJ.

lebron is a superior playoffs performer than wilt. just look at wilt's ppg dropped off in the playoffs. from 31 ppg to 22 ppg.

I don't think nobody would want to watch this with only 8 teamz.

Decreasing the number of teams concentrates the talent. It isn't an advantage.

Last time I checked, since the NBA gets to the Conference semifinals, it's an 8 team league, and LeBron has won 2 titles. Now, condense overall talent even more and...you tell me, without more available data, whether you're sure LeBron would have won way more than that.

Consider that in an 8 team league, you'd probably see scenarios with like KD, Westbrook, and 3 other stars/very good players on a single team. Less teams=more talent on each team, and Lebron's individual advantage is minimized in such a scenario.

But wouldn't it be harder to win in an 8 team league than in a 30 team league? Teams would be a lot more stacked, every single team would be a lot more stacked.

Who cares if there are 30 teams, if there are only 4 (or 3, or 2) teams with real championship chances?

If you put Lebron in the 60s he would buttrape the league so bad we'll have legends about him killing godzilla with bear hand and having sex with 50,000 different women.

Lebron in the 60s is a combination of Oscar Robertson, Gus Johnson and Elgin Baylor. So really good, top 10 all-time, as he would be in any era. Question is whether he would play point-forward or power forward back then. Anyway, unless he's on Bill's team, he still has to go through the Celtics like everyone else.

You have to keep in mind that there is no 3pt line, you can't dribble like you can now, and the bigs have more of an advantage back then. He's not putting up bigger numbers than Wilt.

What team is he playing for? Wilt, Petit, Oscar, Gus Johnson, Nate Thurmond, and Baylor/West combo only beat Russell's teams once in that decade. One time, and that was a great 76ers team.

Shit, Baylor and West averaged like 72 points combined for one finals and still lost to the Celtics.

Who would guard him? A 6'8" 260 pound monster with guard like quickness and a 42inch+ vert...

He seriously could play all 5 positions back then. Not now, not in the 90s, 80s. But in the 50s and 60s, he could do whatever the **** he wanted to and no one could stop him. Except the refs maybe, calling him out on his dribbling style, and whatever else.

If Lebron is playing in the 60s, the game is different. You don't have the same spacing. There is no focus on efficiency. No advanced stats and not a lot of video tape. Does Lebron have to play off the ball a lot?

So Lebron is playing center in the 60s? You don't think Russell, Wilt or Thurmond could guard him down low? Please. How is Lebron going to guard them?

Gus Johnson was 6'6, 230, and was one of the first to play above the rim. He broke 3 backboards. He's HOF, but he didn't put up guady numbers. Why not? Oh, you don't think Russell could keep up with Lebron? Please. Russell was as athletic as Lebron. I don't know if he was as quick, but he could run with Lebron all day long. His tactic against Wilt was to run him the whole game. If Lebron is playing inside, Russell doesn't have to worry about him beating him off the dribble. If he's playing perimiter, Russell isn't guarding him. He's waiting for Lebron at the rim.

Anyway, you think Hibbert's veticality bothers Lebron? That's nothing compared to real shot blockers.

He would probably join the Celtics, so 11 (perhaps as much as 13?) :D

Otherwise, 1 or 2 most likely.

This ^

All depends on who he teams up with, doe. Lebron/Wilt would be something. I don't know if Oscar/Lebron works. Both are/were ball dominant. Also not sure if Lebron fits with West/Baylor. Lebron/Petit in the early 60s is nasty.
