Look, LBJ may be the most manufactured flopping beta mentality star that has ever come out of the NBA (these are desperate times) but allow me as an individual that has FORGOTTEN more NBA knowledge than 99% on ISH knows to educate you on your not even remotely true rambling.

PG: Mo Williams
-Didn't really do shit once he got to the Cavs and was an utter disappointment.

SG: Larry Hughes
- See above.

SG: Danny Green
-Was an undeveloped scrub.

PF: Antwan Jamison
-Washed up at that point who resorted to his "attacking the basket at unique angles" approach.

PF: Drew Gooden
- Couldn't play D for shit.

C: Shaquille O'Neal
-Well past his prime. You would have been better off mentioning Ben Wallace here.

C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas
-Well past his all-star days and bum ankles.

C: Anderson Varejao
-The guy was good at taking charges and setting screens back then. 10x better player right now.

Delonte West - Fvcked Lebrons mom.

Damon Jones - Greatest shooter in the world? LOL hahahaha!

Donyell Marshall - Couldn't hit a damn open shot like his days as a raptor.

So ya, the Cavs were scrubs with a potatoe head coach who was and is a joke and a GM that didn't know rat shit from rice crispies.

Let me break it too ya Larry Hughes was a Shotjacking liability, a poor mans Lance stevenson. Why do U think his Career ended so abruptly. He wanted to be the main man in Clev when it was apparent that Lebron was better from Jump street. Big Z was OK but a Slow footed Dinosaur who was a defensive Liability. Drew Gooden had a good gm a month but was worried about scoring an thats it. Andy was a poor mans Noah who I did like but Injuries kind of hurt his career. Those guys U mentioned were all flawed and OKC and KD have a much better team no matter how U twist it. Also get it through your head KD will NEVER be as good as Lebron.

I'm sorry, but you're reaching imo. Mo Williams put up those stats on teams that won 35.29% and 36.36% of its game when he started. Since LBJ left, he's become a sixth man on two playoff teams. His largest contract came when he played alongside LeBron.

Green basically never saw the court- blame Mike Brown for not using him. He worked his tail off and has become a great 3&D player, flourishing playing for Pop and alongside 3 HoFers. Doubt he'd accomplish that if he played for Mike Brown, or any other inept coach, for that matter. Player development does also depend on environment, specifically the coaching staff. Don't forget that.

Jamison was washed up once he got to Cleveland and has not done much since LBJ left either. He was pretty terrible in the playoffs for Cleveland- dude tossed up brick after brick.

Didn't Gooden start on that Finals squad? Lol, please, he's a journeyman big who happened to come up huge for Washington. Nice bench piece. Him as your starting PF? Wow.

Not addressing Hughes- a wing w/o range doesn't exactly help LeBron. Didn't his deal clog up their cap sheet and hamstring them from making other moves?

Shaq was in his 2nd to last season and could play max 60 games. He had some nice moments, but he was nowhere near as effective as he was in ORL, LAL, or Miami. He was pretty washed up at that point.

Big Z was a nice, hard-working player and his shooting helped space floor for LBJ. Injuries impacted his career, but I don't think you can win a title with (post-foot injury) Big Z as your starting C unless certain scenarios.

Varajao is a nice energy big and ideally a third big man, but he's all hustle and energy. Gets nagging injuries often and is not a primary scoring option.

You're also acting like LBJ had these guys at absolute peaks simultaneously, or so it seems. Just curious, why are you making so many LBJ-based threads as Miami eyes another Finals berth while OKC is sputtering? You seemingly disappeared for a while (given your normal posting frequency) then came out with threads looking to knock LBJ.

2011:19-63I am unsure if you are following the other thread you posted this in, but I think pasting records can be at least a little misleading.

Your post motivated me to go take a look at that 2011 team really quickly. I do not recall much about their season. For starters, I think it's quite safe to assume they were going to take a huge hit by losing one of the greatest NBA players of all-time. I think the loss of James would be akin to the Spurs of the mid-90's losing David Robinson, which actually happened (though I believe James is better than Robinson). The result (also thanks to a few other Spurs injuries as well) was a perennial playoff contender turning into 20 game winners (hence, Tim Duncan being drafted by a good Spurs club in '97). Taking away a star is really going to mess things up.

But anyhow, that aside, it looks like Cleveland struggled through heavy injuries in 2011. They started 3-3, had an awful middle of the season, and ended slightly less bad. Amongst those key guys from the year before, here's a run down on their games played in '11:

Antawn Jamison - 56 games
Mo Williams - 36 games
Anderson Varejao - 21 games
Baron Davis (new) - 15 games
Jamario Moon - 40 games

Further, the Cavs lost the following players due to free agency:

LeBron James
Shaquille O'Neal
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Delonte West

Again, I do not recall the '11 Cavs season at all, so I struggle to remember what the story was with all those missed games from Jamison, Williams and company. But when you consider four very key players left (including the greatest player of this era) while five other key players played a combined 168 games, that is probably the most pungent recipe for disaster we've seen in the new millennium. James was the biggest reason for their legendary spike in losses, but it wasn't as if it was the same roster (minus James) left behind. Nearly their entire team was injured for over half the year or had left prior to when the '11 season began in the first place.

Other than that, this is probably about as much as I wish to get involved in this particular convo (though I imagine it will be tough not to get reeled back in).

This is such a retarded post lol. If you watched the games when Larry Hughes was a Cav, you'd understand just how bad he was. He had a good year on Washington (43% FG) and then came to the Cavs and did absolutely nothing but clog our cap with his horrendous deal. The only thing he was decent at was D, other than that, in his two years with the Cavs, he dropped to 15/4/4 on 40% shooting. How horrible is that when LeBron was getting doubled and tripled and all the attention was on him. Dude was a horrible signing, and shorty after vanished into obscurity. GTFO. Oh btw, Spurs in 4, Bron > KD.\

Oh btw, in Hughes' two years with the Cavs in the playoffs, he averaged 11/3/3 on 33%ish from the field. LOL.

PG: Mo Williams
-Averaged 17/6/4 in two seasons BEFORE EVEN PLAYING WITH LEBRON and was an ALL STAR with the Cavaliers.

SG: Larry Hughes
His final season before playing for the Cavs? Averaged 22/5/6/3.... Imagine a steroids version of Tony Allen that is far better on offense...

SG: Danny Green
-Actually the team was too good so Danny Green missed the cut.

SF: LeBron James

PF: Antwan Jamison
-Dude is a borderline hall of famer considering his all time stats and was certainly no scrub

PF: Drew Gooden
-very solid energy big, still in the league on the Wizards and just had some big plays for them in round 2

C: Shaquille O'Neal
-scrub huh?

C: Zydrunas Ilgauskas
-GUY WAS A TWO TIME ALL STAR

C: Anderson Varejao
-Very good center. Has had seasons of 11/12 and a short season of averaging 14/14....

LeBron stans.... :facepalmYou are desperate.

Shaq, Jamison, and Mo Williams were all traded for $0.05 on the dollar because their respective teams didn't want them anymore. :oldlol: Why is that in every LeBron playoff series in Cleveland they had the best player but the opposing team always had the next best 4 players?

Rondo-Allen-Pierce-KG

Kobe-Odom-Bynum-Gasol

TD-Ginobili-Tony Parker

They didn't have the second star he needed to win a title, but they weren't a bunch of scrubs. OP summed it up pretty well. Those teams were big and strong up front and had a lot of shooters around Lebron. Hughes wasn't worth his contract, but he was pretty good and versatile player. Even Eric Snow had a lot of value. I remember him locking up Chauncey.

They got to the finals in the weakest conference of all time. Look at it this way:

KD couldn't win with Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka... He would have missed the playoffs on that Cavs team. That's how great LeBron is

The 2009 and 2010 Cavs team clearly aint that bad, no one could take a scrub team to 60+wins, even the mighty Michael Jordan. However, the Cavs team that made the finals in 07 was trash, you have to agree with that. Lebron was still young when he did that, it was the Pistons and Flip Saunders fault that they choked again in ECF as the clear favorite.
