In the playoffs so far...

Durant - 29.8ppg, 8.9rpg, 4.2apg, 45.5 fg%, 35.1 3p%, 82.9 ft%, 1.1spg, 1.2bpg.

Westbrook - 26.6ppg, 7.5rpg, 8.1apg, 42.1 fg%, 28.4 3pt%, 88.3 ft%, 1.9spg, 0.4bpg.

As you can clearly see, Durant is the more consistent and better player. Westbrook is a STUD and I am taking nothing away from him, but I can't stand the lies and propaganda being spread to the masses. This is DURANT'S team. Westbrook throws up GREAT games and then DUD games, where-as Durant is a model of consistency.

Stop the BS.

I troll a lot, but I don't really think Westbrook is the leader of the team. The heart/the spark that gets things going? Maybe, but Durant is clearly the best player on the team

Regardless, those stats don't seem like such a disparity, especially if you consider Westbrook's stronger impact on the defensive end, which impacts their fast break game a lot. He's also come up huge in the most important games of the playoffs, often coming up bigger than Durant.

I'll say that as far as both ends of the court, Wesbtrook has a bigger impact on the game, but part of that is the negative impact of his boneheaded offense (not tonight though. he was on), but Durant's impact on the OFFENSIVE end of the floor is arguably bigger than Westbrook's overall impact on both ends.

Sooner or later Durant is cursed to choke, and when that happens Goatbrook will be responsible to carry him

Wait wtf? Westbrook is shooting better than KD at the free throw line?

But OP those stats aren't helping your point. KD's averaging a few points more, but Westbrook has much more assists, and the rebounding numbers are impressive when you consider his height/position.

If you told me I could have a 30/8/4 SF, or a 27/7.5/8 PG, I'd likely go with the point guard since whoever else was playing SF would make up the difference in rebounds

Yea. Dudes got swag and style.

reminds me of kobe vs shaq

1 guy won mvp cause of statistical dominance and will probably just show up for the last round. the other guy was averaging nearly the same points and hitting the clutch shots while being more alpha and dragged his team to the finals

10 years from now westbrook will go down as the better player all time and haters wont count his titles with durant as fmvp

Apparently you missed the FG% and 3pt%.

:facepalm
Which is compensated for by his FT%, and his impact on the defensive end of the floor. It's not like 42% vs 45% is that far off... it's not a make or break. I agree with your premise, but the stats you are using aren't exactly backing it up nearly as strongly as you're trying to make it come off

i would be really stoked if WB ended up better all time than KD but i seriously doubt that'll happen

really seriously

It's not just stats. Westbrook is dominating every facet of the game right now. Dude gets wild rebounds, momentum changing steals, dunks, collapsing the defense. KD is hitting jumpers, and a drive here and there, but is a terrible defender and is not the game changer that WB currently is.

thats what they said in 2000 about kobe in comparison to shaq

anything can happen. no matter how far ahead someone is

and a few scoring titles and 1 mvp isnt allot to overtake

It's a typo, but it doesn't change the point.

Having a point guard who can get 7.5 rebounds a game is huge. Lucky to get 4 rebounds out of a point guard a game

Not sure if serious..

Westbrook 27/8/7 Durant 30/8/4

Shaq and kobe was mostly 35/17 for Shaq and 14/4/5 for Kobe

Kobe was like the Ray Allen of this heat team, role player who got stats from open shots due to the dominance of the leading player (Shaq/Lebron)

Horry should be ahead of Kobe all time:

7 Role player rings > 3 role player rings

Kobe has 2 rings as a star but he is a rapist so thats disqualified

That's weird. Because I actually watched the games and it was Westbrook who seemed dominant, not Durant. He leaves everything on the court.

Eye. Test.

Durant is too passive to ever be an alpha or a top dog, and doesn't nearly have as much of an impact in the playoffs so far as Westbrook. He might be a "better player" but he's been bailed out too many times this playoffs, by timely whistles and timely hotstreaks from his other teammates.

Had the Grizzlies backdoor-swept them, he'd have been fishing a long time ago with Russ. And I'm pretty sure Godbrook would've caught more too.

This.

Actually RW has the advanced stats advantage.
KD:
22.64

RW:
23.56

Win Shares KD does have a slight advantage though.
