Tim Duncan quits 2004 Fiba.

he mumbled that his international basketball career is "95 percent" over and that, oh yeah, "FIBA [stinks]."

"Enough already. This just isn't worth it."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A42585-2004Aug28.html

Is he getting called out for this? Nope.
Can you just imagine if Lebron, Kobe or Dwade said something like that? Your grand kids would probably still read how much of a quitter they are but since its Timmy.

Duncans 1st seed team lost to an 8th seed. How often does this happen? Buuut sinnce its timmy.

Mid 00s has a alot of water shortages thanks to the spurs. They play so dirty, everyone takes a bath after watching them play.
Mid 00's spurs is the dirtiest team that played in the NBA. Most of you guys keeps calling OKC/Miami a flopping team. Well, Horry alone puts those team to shame then add Ginobli and you have the greatest flopping team in the NBA. Even Duncan to some extent flop. Put Bowen in and let him run around injuring opposing team star player then you have an 'ship caliber team. Good thing Nash is such a trooper. he kept playing even though the whole spurs keeps MMA'ing his a**. Buut siiince its timmy his rings still count.

Choking. Duncan is a known choker. His wife left him because he keeps sucking a big one. Last finals alone he missed an easy shot that your retarded friend can easily make.
Did people call him out? For a few days maybe but after that... mehhh
If Lebron or Durant missed that, ish would most likely be still be down 'til now.

and this. If Duncan played like shit its because his old, if played good then he is GOAT and carried his team to the playoff, conference finals, finals, bedroom or w/e

IF DUNCAN WASNT SO LUCKY TO PLAY WITH THOSE SMARTS DIRTY AND GREAT PLAYERS:

Ginobili, Horry and Bowen.

then he would have just 1 ring in the lockout season and nobody would even talk about him.

Those 3 players saved duncan carrer.

Because its always his fault. If he puts up 30/9/9 in a win then he is getting carried by his stack team. If he puts up 29/8/7 in a lost then they'll be like "look how DRASTIC his stats drop, what a choker. You know some BS stuff.

It's because nobody hates Duncan. Why would you hate him, unless you just hate the Spurs as a rival team? Duncan is like Hakeem. Nobody really hated on Hakeem. Fans of opposing teams respected his game and worried about their team matching up with him. Lebron is like Mike. People love or hate him. Yes, Mike had his haters in the days. There were people who did not want to see the Bulls win and win and win.

Thats the problem. He always gets a free pass. He got to most ish poster top 10 list because noones calling his BS.

Put Lebron above shaq and everyone loses their mind because he choke, quits or whatever BS they make up. Well duncan has an even bigger quit and choke job but if someone puts him above shaq ,most of them will be like meeeh. Next thing you know he's above magic.:lol

That's the problem. He didn't have a bigger quit and choke job. :facepalm

And unlike Shaq, Duncan proved he could win without another star. Shaq played with Penny, Kobe, Wade and LeBron in his career (though LeBron is excusable, he was past his prime). Duncan played with a past-his-prime David Robinson, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.

In the 2000 Playoffs, Shaq's second highest scorer averaged 21.1 PPG. Then in '01 it was 29.4. In '02 it was 26.6. In '06 Shaq wasn't the leading scorer, but Wade averaged 28.4

In '99, Robinson averaged 15.6. In '03 Parker averaged 14.7. In '05 Manu averaged 20.8. In '07 Parker averaged 21.1.

You use choke jobs to rank player, I use second best teammate's PPG. And guess what, Duncan wins by a landslide.

Duncan > Shaq. It's so easy to see.

Great to see that this last half-decade of choking along with some shaky sh*it during his prime is finally being looked at and DunCAN'T (win back-to-back) is getting exposed for what he really is.

Hmm Shaq, Kobe, Garnett also turned down invitations to play. Did anyone call them quitters?

And of course when you're old, anything good is a bonus.

There is no double standard. No one simply hates Duncan enough to spew this nonsense, outside Kobe fans who feel threatened. That's all, nothing else to see.

Duncan > Shaq. It's so easy to see.
And here comes that.:lol

Sorry to break it to you but we're not talking about kobe, so there are no what ifs and low fg% here. Lebron has the dominance, accolades and STATs that says he's better than Duncan. I can slap you with stats that will shut Duncan up. Duncan faps to lebrons stats every night.

Even if lbj decided to retire now, he is clearly way better than Duncan. Winning 3 peats is just an icing to the cake.

Assumption. The article says he was disappointed with international basketball, not because got humiliated so bad.

Should we just assume Kobe, Shaq and Garnett were scared then if we're to make assumptions.

Duncan is the superior rebounder and rim protector. He's also one of the few excellent bigs in this era.

There's a "double standard" for virtually every great player because every great player has been on teams that didn't win a title or had really bad moments. Hakeem had 8 first round exits in 15 playoff appearances. Bird, Wilt, Jordan... all had ups and downs... Trolls these days are weak

I agree. Fans of Tim Duncan don't shove his accomplishments down our throats every chance they get. They acknowledge that he had support and dont diminish Duncan's teammates and their contributions. Duncan's fans dont question the accomplishments of his peers as well.

Truth be told, I only see this form of fanaticism on this forum. And it's just twisted. Laker fans will argue against their own teams players to promote Kobe Bryant, against a Heat fan that in turn will argue against the Heat players in an effort to prop up LeBron James. It's as if theyre rooting against their own team.

So Dirk is better because he makes the game harder for himself?
