I think it's close but I definitely don't understand why James Worthy is on the 50 greatest team over 'Nique, I honestly feel 'Nique was at least as good if not the better player, he just played under inferior circumstances. 'Nique on the showtime team would have been stellar and Worthy likely would have never won shit anchoring the Hawks.

Playing with 2 of the top 5 players (earvin/kareem) is what made him standout to be on the top 50, he didn't do anything spectacular.he wasn't a defensive juggernaut,he wasn't a deadly shooter,he wasn't a great all around player.nique was a one man wrecking crew and brought it every night .plus he had to go against those legendary celtics ,bad boys teams of the 80's by himself.

Wilkins for me. Worthy could probably be similar to Wilkins in numbers if he wasn't on a stacked team like the Lakers and Wilkins could probably be similar to Worthy if he was on the Lakers, lol. Wilkins don't have the quick post moves tho, but he would probably be more exciting in the open court. And Worthy was a better defender from what I saw.
But the reason why I pick Wilkins is because he was the number 1 option and have better longevity. But it's close tho.

Wouldn't nobody win anything playing on that Hawks team, not even Jordan.

Wilkins
I feel that Worthy could've been close to Nique's numbers and even impact, leading his own team (like Wilkins), but not quite there, and Dominique would've "done" just the same as James in Worthy's role with the Lakers (assuming he'd be willing to play that role).
Big Game James was the better passer and Human Highlight Film was the better rebounder, as far as defense Nique was better off-ball but I'd rather have Worthy on-ball as he'd try more, yet you can also say that he could expend more energy there and Nique was far from a slouch when he put the effort, mainly because of insane athleticism... When it comes to scoring, Worthy had a quicker 1st step, better post-game, bit taller even, and I'd probably would even say a better overall finisher but that's debatable, Nique was a better shooter, more explosive and reckless at the rim, more athletic, also had a nice post-game with great soft-touch around the rim, and he was a great finisher, especially when he went hard for the dunk it was like 'get out the way', Wilkins was the better overall scorer. They were both pretty clutch and beasts in transition.
Just great and underrated with Wilkins did with the Hawks but also let's not act like he didn't have any help.. Willis, Rivers, Wittman, Rollins, Levingston, McGee.. Some nice players there that did couple of things really well, knew their role, complimented each other and Nique.

Gotta roll with my favorite player of all time, the HHF! Big Game James was awesome and I feel was an alpha dog level SF too. But I think Nique was just better at it and FOR SURE was a guy who could carry team scoring. Nique's scoring skillset is underrated by many too. He's among the VERY BEST SF'S EVER posting up, using floaters, and using the glass consistently as a weapon from all angles. And u can argue HE IS THE BEST SF EVER in terms of slashing to the rack, finishing in the paint with power, and dominating scoring off the offensive glass (tip dunks and putbacks). And on top of all that he had an above average (I would say B+) midrange game.
When it came to all the great SF's in the 80's, Nique was the most unpredictable scorer of the bunch. He could simply do things scoring the other guys COULD NEVER DO! The evolution of the freak athlete scoring SF goes Baylor, Hawkins, Dr. J, Nique, and LeBron. U got other guys who were awesome in that regard (Worthy being one of them), but those five are the definitive ones to me who stand the test of time. Other than Bron, Bird, Dr. J, Barry, Durant, Hondo, and Baylor, I can't say FOR SURE I would take any SF peak wise over Nique.

Great point! Nique showed awesome longevity being a great player AFTER an Achilles injury on top of that. Imagine if Nique NEVER had that Achilles injury! Even in San Antonio at 37, he averaged 18 points and 6 boards a night off the bench playing PF in addition to SF. I can't think of NOBODY who maintained freak athletic ability longer than Dominique!

I agree! Nique surely had help with the Hawks, but not HOF caliber help like Bird, MJ, Magic, and Isiah had in the league. But the Hawks still won 50 games often and were seen as a team who could possibly have a chance down the road. But of all the HOF guys in his era, Nique had basically the least amount of consistent All Star or HOF caliber help. But I gotta admit that the team with Nique, Doc Rivers (was a very underrated PG who made an All Star team), Moses, and Reggie Theus was interesting at least on paper it seemed!

This is why titles are overrated when rating players. Really helps to have a great team around you.

You know what made Worthy, it was playing in the lakers system. Playing with Magic and those guys. Put Worthy on the Hawks team and he would not have been so successful. He could not carry a team like Wilkins. Dominique was the better player.
