I'm sick and tired of people overlooking this dominant performance by Mikan when discussing the greatest single game performance so let's look at the facts:

In Wilt's 100 point game his team scored 169 meaning that Wilt only scored 59.2% of his team's points. In other words this means that Mikan would've scored 141 points if he had played in that game.

Kobe in his 81 point game scored 66.4% of his team's points. If Mikan had been in this game he would've scored 102 points.

D-Rob's 71? Mikan would've had 93.

Time for people to accept that Mikan = GOAT

Wilt wouldn't last in that era

I definitely agree. The 50s was a grind it out defensive era, 60s were an up and down inflated stats era.

Were talking about a guy that averaged 30.3 ppg in the playoffs where the league averaged 78.5 ppg ('49).

Translate that into this year's playoff league average of 99.5 ppg, Mikan's numbers go up to 38.4 ppg. Head and shoulders above the current scoring leader Kevin Durant's 29.8 ppg.

Yes, he's the goat! Lots of women adored him too as Deuce testified in that orgy/parade he attended in during the 50s in Minneapolis. :lol

Adjust Mikan's '50 playoff numbers (31.3 ppg in a league that averaged 80.6 ppg) to today's playoff numbers and it's even higher, 38.6 ppg. The man was just unbelievable. Sometimes I couldn't believe the things he was doing on the court.

Agreed. I think that's part of the problem of why these young whippersnappers don't appreciate his game - there really isn't a guy in NBA history you could look at and say "that guy plays like George Mikan" so it's hard for us as people who watched him play live to describe his sheer dominance.

There will never be another George Mikan.

Mikan had no competition what so ever in that era. He had an unfair advantage.

Dolph Schayes, selected as a top 50 player all-time, is no competition?

Mikan CRUSHED Schayes in the '50 Finals to tune of 32.2 ppg to 17.3 ppg and of course getting the win.

This is only because Mikan was just that good, not that the league was that bad.
