2008: NBA MVP
2009: Finals MVP
2010: Finals MVP
2011: Exhibition Game MVP....

Where does it rank? It's very impressive to me...

I like the All Star Game MVP in between there, displays his amazing versatility and all-around greatness...

-1 NBA MVP was a lifetime achievement award
-2 rings and finals MVPs because of refs+frontcourt
so it doesn't rank very well.

the only thing impressive about Kobe was his acting when he was faking injuries

Not impressive at all. Chris Paul deserved the 2008 MVP and Pau deserved the 2010 Finals MVP.

SHAQ gots this:

2000: NBA MVP and Finals MVP(Kobe has never won both in the same year)
2001: NBA Finals MVP
2002: NBA Finals MVP

It should also be noted that Shaq deserved the 2001 MVP too. Iverson winning was a joke.

it's hilarious that you have the tenacity to make that claim when you werent even watching the NBA back in 08. stay ugly, my friend.

'48-'51 Mikan:
Championship every year
Season scoring champion every year
3 confirmed playoff scoring titles ('48 NBL playoff scoring leader is unknown)
NBL MVP in '48
No BAA/NBA MVP award existed in '49-'51, it wasn't until '56 that the first NBA MVP was won

Whoah, Shaq was mentioned?

Guys, I think you are mistakening BEST for MOST IMPRESSIVE...

I mean, for a guy that's not top 10, been a good defender for 20% of his career, not a very willing playmaker, a volume scorer, and crappy teammate/lader, it's gotta be the MOST IMPRESSIVE stretch, right?

I am ridiculously sexy, and I've been watching the NBA since around when Dwight was drafted.

20% is pushing it. Kobe's an overall negative defender if you look at his career DRAPM. The prototypical one-way player. James Harden of the 2000s basically.

Why are people that hate kobe still so obsessed? Maybe if u were a fan but if u don't like him and keep talking about him:facepalm

Kobe's 08-10 run was VERY good -

30/6/6 on 57TS%

3 consecutive postseasons of 600+ points

And some amazing performances...

:biggums:

I am appreciating his greatness dude :wtf:

His 3 year run was amazing... especially 2008, best player in the nba/post-season mvp as well... jordan-esque.. i rarely make threads about him.

To Artillery: Nah, been a good defender from about 00 to 03, maybe 04...

Great rebuttal.

Mikan won 7 championships in his 8 year prime before his first retirement. The one year in his prime that he didn't win the title was because of a broken leg in the '51 playoffs. Maybe you should educate yourself next time my friend.

Kobe moving up in the world! He only used to have 1 ring in the Jameer edit.

2008-2010 Kobe we're looking at a three year stretch where he got 30/6/6/2 on 47 FG%, 51 eFG%, 57 TS% including some epic series. 2 rings, 3 finals. Not many have done it better...

His conference finals series:

Playoff Stats Year-by-Year

2008
30.1 ppg 5.7 rpg 5.6 apg 48fg% 30%3P 81%FT 58TS% 51eFG%

2009
30.2 ppg 5.3 rpg 5.5 apg 46fg% 35%3P 88%FT 56TS% 49eFG%

2010
29.2 ppg 6.0 rpg 5.5 apg 46fg% 37%3P 84%FT 57TS% 51eFG%

2x NBA Champion
2x NBA Finals MVP
1x NBA MVP
1x All Star Game MVP
3x All NBA First Team
3x All-Defensive First Team
1x Olympic Gold Medal

That efficiency is identical to first three-peat playoff Jordan. Crazy. Seriously, compare their FG% on twos, their eFG% and TS%, they are basically the same (though MJ was better player, scored more points etc etc).

His best series in this span....

34/5/6 on 50% vs. '08 Nuggets
29/6/4 on 53% vs. '08 Spurs (#3 ranked defense and a year before embarrassed Lebron)
34/6/6 on 48% vs. '09 Nuggets
33/7/7 on 49% vs. '08 Jazz
34/7/8 on 52% vs. '10 Suns
32/6/7 + great defense vs. '09 Magic

As far as 3 year runs, the only players I can think of off the top of my head with 3 year runs that I'd say were better were Jordan('91-'93), Shaq('00-'02), Bird('84-'86) and Olajuwon('93-'95).
