I posted this a bit earlier in the BTE, but will repost to open up to others.
The road trip will be along the lines of Chicago --> Toronto --> Montreal --> Boston --> NYC --> DC --> Pittsburgh/Anything on the way --> Chicago.
Chicago is where some family are, so that's "home" in this case, so won't be a tourist there.
Would be around May 2015.
My current itinerary looks like this:
[QUOTE]
Each number is a day.
1) Chicago → Toronto. 1/2 day in Toronto.
2) Full day in Toronto.
3) Toronto → Montreal.

You know you can't enjoy sh1t in half a day right? A full day isn't even enough to say you've been there. What's the purpose of a trip if you're on a tight ass schedule

It's tight b/c more nights = more hotels = $$$. Also, work/school makes it hard to be on a trip longer than 2 weeks.
I think I will add another day or two. One to NYC for sure...
Leaving out the south? What the hell man?
I've been to all the states in the Southwest and Deep South. Trying something new, where I haven't been.

Oh. How did you like it? What were some of your favorite places?
In the Southwest, I'd say Albuquerque, Grand Canyon, Zion National Park (UT), Great Sand Dunes National Park (CO). Deep South...New Orleans, Atlanta....Florida. Nothing really special from Mississippi/Alabama.

Chicago is where family lives, so already been there and what not. We've got about 2 weeks for this...so that's why it's covering more ground/days.

Are you going to find hotels where you can keep your dogs?
Take your dogs to Central Park and just explore/people watch
What kind of stuff do you like to do? NY's got some must see museums?

Yeah will def have to make sure the hotels are pet friendly.
Central Park w/ the dogs sounds like an awesome idea! Would be awesome to explore like that.
Museums are for sure an interest. Local eateries, art, historic sites, basically anything relating that cities' culture are what I'd like to see.
I'm guessing most people go to Manhattan for the majority of their visits..what is there in the other boroughs? How convenient/reliable is it to travel around in a car while visiting NYC?

It's not terribly convenient to travel around Manhattan with a car. Especially, business areas like Midtown. A destination like Central Park is cool, because it may take you a while to find parking, so you can just explore whereever you stop.
MOMA and the Met are probably the two most popular museums to see

There's lots of stuff in the outer boroughs, but it's less concentrated, so further apart and you have to know what you are checking out.

How is the Guggenheim? Have you been to that immigrant's museum at Ellis Island?

The Guggenheim you go to, if you like one the exhibits they have going on. MoMA and The MET, you can go to any time and spend a day there. A day isn't even enough time for The Met.
I have never been to Ellis Island, but people who have told me they liked it. Especially if you have ancestors to look up.
Man if you're in Boston if you can wiggle the time in to see a ballgame in Fenway Park that's almost a gotta do thing for a sports fan

I've been to every region of the united states (except for the nortwest) and the southeast is the best in my opinion (georgia, florida, tennessee). I guess everyone likes different stuff though :confusedshrug:

Your plan is fine, but next time you really should do a NYC only trip. So much to see and do there.

Yup. You know that once the match ends, he going to claim to be laid up and try to sleep on my couch for his "NY trip."
And once you get Macho Man on your couch, he's harder to get rid of than bedbugs.

Pittsburg?
I decided to scratch it. It was just going to be a stop between DC --> Chicago. Decided to just drive the 11 hours or so and not stop on that last day. Rather spend the extra day and $ elsewhere.

you act as if having me on your couch is a bad thing
At least with bedbugs the jokes are funny.
