The East was top heavy as fvck up until 2012 when Dwight left, Rose blew out his knee, and the Celtics big 3 broke down. :kobe:

I would say so. The Knicks were also pretty decent but now.... :facepalm.

I miss the mid 2000s when it was stacked up high with the Celtics, Cavs, and Pistons when they were still good, Magic while teams like the Heat were contenders for a few years and I remember the bulls and nets sticking around a bit (after the early 2000s success of the Nets).

This year, injuries hindered a lot of teams as well.

Granted, they might not be better than the West overall, but they would have been much better.

the east was weak before 2008 and after 2013. In 2013 the east was weak from 3-8 but heat, pacers, and spurs were head and shoulders the best teams

nice try fakkit. Trying to make the east seem weak when the heat just flat out dominated. Doesnt matter if the 90s bulls or celtics were there, heat just destroyed everyone including your "tough" western conference. Fk urself fakkits. :lol

They only had a two solid teams come out of that conference, 2004-2005 Detroit Pistons and 2006 Freethrow Heat. 2008 Celtics is simply the result of soft Gasol. Letting KG manhandle him SMH....

East from 04-11 was elite at the top but sucked overall compared to the west.

00 - 03 was the lowest point in the East

Yeah those years were week. The 2001 playoffs did create some great playoff series, mashburn vs. his former team, carter missing the game winning shot in game 7, ray allen and company vs. the MVP- another 7 game series. Despite the fact the field was incredibly weak, I remember the Pacers not being nearly as good as they were the year before and the Knicks were pretty much done after the 2000 playoffs for about 10 years.

Since the start of the new century, it's been pretty much the West and most have forgotten that the East used to dominate more before 99.

Also, All-star games are pretty much meaningless. The rest is fine.

Because no one likes you if you try to run an offensive scheme on the East.

As for those who run defensive schemes.
they go on an abusive relationship with their employer or something.

who knows.

the east has been weak since 2003 imo. pistons ruled the east from like 2003 till 2007 then lebrons cavs knocked them off then the next year the big 3 in boston formed and knocked the cavs off. east was crazy deep in the 80's and 90's tho just so happened that jordan kinda overshaowed the east in the 90's but if u look at the rosters and records of most 90's east team..they were stacked.

so tell me which team in the East besides the Heat was good enough to defeat the top 8 team in the west.

Agreed with everything here. The Nets weren't a bad finals team in 2003, they took it to 6 games. The Pistons were the better team though in the East from about 2003-2006 (even though the Heat beat them that year, the Pistons dominate reign got ruined by all of the rules that forced defenses to play softer). The 2004-2005 NBA finals was exhilarating. I loved it, the defensive intensity and the Pistons barely lost due to some small mental relapses aka Robert Horry's game winner. He had way too much time to set up his shot but otherwise the Pistons were spectacular defensively for most of that series. The Miami Heat were really good IMO in 2004-2005, a team that would have also made a competitive final series with those Spurs. But after those two teams. The Miami Heat 2006 team is tainted because of the suspicious amount free throws that wade got. Lebron's team made the finals in 2007 and I knew they would get destroyed, at least the 2007 Pistons IMO would at least make it interesting and have it go to 5 and 6 games before losing (they were a shell of their former selves). The 2008 Celtics were good and along with the Magic's balanced perimeter game with Dwight down low dominated the East for two years. After that 7 game series between the celtics and the heat in the 2011 playoffs, the depth in the east drastically decreased. Pacers were good last year but I think due to the fact their best players are young and Hibbert was a no show this year shows this team is way too inconsistent to be a #1 seed.

Wow to come to really think of it, there really aren't any.
