No hate in here. Nice guy, amazingly skilled, very fun to watch, definitely the #2 player in the league, but in my mind suffers from three things currently:

1) He plays in a very one-dimensional offense under a sub-par head coach
2) He plays in a small market where the owner has already shown he is willing to go above the salary cap
3) He sometimes has trouble channeling his aggression, and may not be able to take over games the way we should come to expect of someone who is revered as he is as a player

And until he leaves OKC, I don't think he will be able to fix these issues. I think under a better head coach and a more intricate offense, and with his improved game next season and the seasons beyond, he will have a chance to A) take over games better and B) really have a shot at winning. Having a owner willing to spend more $$ (#2) is a plus.

I just don't think OKC, as much as I appreciate their fanbase, will ever get it done for Durant.

No.

Brooks has to go.

Westbrook maybe has to go, depending on who they hire to replace Brooks.

You don't just leave like a coward if you don't get it done immediately.

He needs to leave the western conference period.

Every year he's gonna have to face 50 win teams in the 1st round and 55-60 win teams for the rest of the postseason.

You seen how exhausted he was by the west finals from all the energy he had to exert in the 1st 2 rounds? He'd have it much easier in the east especially with Miami getting older and Bron possibly leaving them. If he leaves OKC for another team in the west he's an idiot.

Immediately? His career his half over! :biggums:
Maybe not half over, but his years as a superstar are. Durant would make a great number 2 option on a title team, but he has proven he doesn't have the heart or talent to carry a team to a title like Bron did the last 2 years.

There's a reason great players leave the team they got drafted to and move to a bigger market.

Out of all the obstacles you have to overcome to win a championship, moving to a city the NBA has on their short list of team that win is the best thing for you to do.

If you're an NBA player and want a championship, look at the list of teams who have won over the last 20 or so years (It's only a short list, so you don't have many to choose from) Force yourself to get traded there, or sign there as a free agent, and it's the best move you can make.

Rondo for Westbrook, or Westbrook for Irving.

Thunder would be in the Finals right now if they had a pass first point guard like Rondo.

Lot of people (Rap fans really) are calling this. SF is our biggest weakness for now and Durant would have actually be a perfect fit.

However, I don't know if he should leave with the current situation he has. I mean, they still got a very promising young core and can still add to it. Leaving to the East would be in his mindset if he wants a better circumstance.

Its the ownership, cant win a title if the team's owner only knows how to make it worse. Like I said about the Phoenix Suns since 2006, dont you think the Suns sending away Joe Johnson is just like Thunder giving up on harden? Spurs and the Heat aint rich either, but they do spend money when they see a good chance in winning title. Its nothing wrong to go cheap and save money for rebuilding teams or 1st/2nd round exit teams, but its a big problem when your front office still desperately wants to save money for title contenders.

Switch out Scott Brooks with George Karl and they win it all this year. Hell, if Durant developed a post game and played some defense he could win with Scott Brooks.

That requires work. I suggest just moving to the East and compete with LeBron in the ECF every year until he tops him.

I don't agree. He's been on plenty of great teams in OKC. He needs a new coach and he needs to improve as a player. He lost in the WCF. Where is he going to go to put him in a better situation?

I love this shit.

Dude has arguably the best roster in the league with loads of talent and everyone important young.

2 more first round picks as well coming this year that they can move or develop.

They've already had a 4 year title window and unless injuries happen...they will have at least 7 more years as a top 3 or 4 contender at worst.

But yea....it's been really tough on KD

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

Here is a crazy suggestion....don't let Danny Green single cover you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't turn it over an absurd amount!!!!!!!!!!

People acting like they are far off. They choked the 3rd qtr of game 6....with 5 turnovers from KD...that was the difference in that game. It should take special play to win it all. That is the problem with fans of this era. Kobe/Shaq had such a big margin of error (but even they had to be special against the 02 kings)...and the Heat have an even bigger margin of error because the competition they face has been weak...

You shouldn't win titles easily.

I literally called out Durant for having no post game and not playing defense, and I have my head in his ass?

If Lebron James can leave a 65 win team with the best record in the NBA...

Then Durant can leave too....:confusedshrug:

Winning a title is always in groups of 3:

KG+PP+Allen
TD+TP+Manu
LBJ+Wade+Bosh

This is how it works in the new NBA. That's why they should ahve kept Hardon.

Nah, he doesn't need to leave, he just needs to work on a post-game, and they need a new coach, the core he has in OKC is better than other teams that will be able to offer him a max deal.
