OT: What's really weird is they changed from coaches vote to media vote:

for the first time this year:

didnt we already have this discussion and proved that kobe didnt rob wade for any all nba or defensive eams..
i think i went through every single year and all the voting results and showed how wade was nowhere close and if kobe didnt even play in the nba wade still would have missed out
wades only defensive teams were
2005 - 2nd team all defense ( how did kobe keep wade off 1st team. kobe didnt make 1st or 2nd team defense that year )
2008-09 - 2nd team all defense ( how did kobe keep wade off 1st team when paul and rondo were 2nd and 3rd in voting )
2009-10 - 2nd team all defense ( i mean its just tough luck for wade. both 2009 and 2010 were kobes absolute best leadership championship years. no shame in coming up short )
now... there 2004,2006,2007,2011,2012,2013,2014 in which wade didnt even make 2nd team all defense. how is it kobe kept wade off those 1st team all defense's???????? wouldnt wade atleast have to be 2nd team to have an argument.

Lost in all of this is the disgusting outrage that Kobe failed to make not only the 1st, but the 2nd All-D teams himself. This clearly shows the league is biased against him. Consider: when Kobe played this year, the Lakers "locked down" their opponents to a very respectable 105.5 points per game. When he didn't play, they gave up a disgraceful 109.5 points per game. That is a full 4 points per game difference! If you can't grasp what 4 points means in an NBA game, look at it in terms of "Kobe Time" : 4 points = 3 minutes of Kobe @ 2/5 shooting. Surely you can see the impact.
The Silver era is not off to a great start.

Kobe has, over the course of his career, a NEGATIVE defensive RAPM. Which means over the course of 130,000+ possessions he has been a below average defender. I'm not talking about he should have 3 of the 9 All-Def. I mean he shouldn't have any.
This is Derek Jeter winning the Gold Glove when his UZR ratings were the worst of any SS in 70 years.
I laugh every single time a KobeStan tries to bring up defense.

Kobe didn't deserve a lot of the all-defense selections he got, but that doesn't mean Lebron should get equally undeserving selections, and this year he just did not do enough to make the 1st team. Honestly he didn't really deserve 2nd team either.
Kobe and Lebron are both great defenders when they make the effort, but most of the time they don't, and I think these awards should go to players that actually play defense every game.

CP3 gets another 1st team all-defense :facepalm
Bron obviously didn't deserve it this year (he didn't deserve 2nd team either, so yeah, it is still a popularity vote), because he was often a turnstile defensively, and Miami sucked on defense this year. This also explains how Chris Paul makes FIRST team again, despite not even being close to being the best defender on a very average defensive team, and missing 20 games.
But yeah, moronic Kobe stans, keep believing that CP3 is a better defender than Jimmy Butler, or that Kobe is one of the best nba defenders ever :facepalm

Yes, that was a few years ago when he was trying on defense in the regular season as Miami was trying to get back to the Finals after losing to Dallas.
And his defense in the only games that have mattered (the playoffs...and specifically the Indiana series minus game 1) this year have indeed been DPOY year worthy.

Nikka will never catch Kobe in anything......
He's a Stern product, a fraud of a weak era. An ESPN mascot.
Lebron had/has to beat out Garnett, Duncan, Bowen, Artest, Ibaka, Chandler, George, Iguodala, Kirilenko, Butler, Wallace, Josh Smith, Battier, Sefolosha, Tayshuan, Deng, Kawhi, Davis and so on to take a 1st all-defensive spot.... all players who were better defenders than Kobe Bryant... just one or two of those players above would have stopped Kobe from having most (if not all) of those 1st all-defensive honors if they were guards or if Kobe was a forward....
Kobe just had to take a spot from either Rondo or CP3 in his time... the rest like Hinrich, Wade, Bell, Christie, Ray Allen, Iverson, Reggie Miller etc. was no hastle...
Lebron had to also beat anybody to almost win a Defensive Player of the Year award last year (2nd time he was a runner-up for that award).... and had the most 1st all-defensive team votes last year aswell, even more than the guy who won DPOY that year (Gasol).... something which Kobe never was close to accomplish....
I am not saying Kobe was a bad defender, but saying that he didnt face anywhere close to the same competition to earn his defensive honors compared to Lebron...
Its kindof like the East is right now at the Guard spot in terms of All-Star Balloting.... many of those guards in the West who were not selected All-Stars this year would have even been the starting Guard All-Stars if they were in the East....
no worries. winning the dpoy is better than all these. real fans know that kobe didn't deserve like 5 of these selections anyways, terrible.

the irony in this post is bananas. we have some retarded fans claiming kobe is top 5 all time when he's a phil jackson/dominant center product. biggest perimeter fraud in nba history.

It doesn't matter what garbage, arbitrary, stats you show me, Kobe is better than Bron at the game of basketball. On both sides of the ball. Stats don't account for variables, such as protecting your percentages or stat padding in blowouts, etc. They don't account for level of competition. They don't account for fear of failure.
Kobe's alpha and no stat will help you understand what that means.

LOL! 35 PPG in the RS and couldn't lead his team past the shitty Suns' D. First round exit. 45 wins? :oldlol: . LeBron and Wade would've RAPED that Suns team. He blew a 3-1 series lead, FFS.
So yeah, LeBron is literally better than Kobe at every aspect of basketball. Offense? LeBron >>>>>>> Kobe 28 PPG over a 11 year career along with 7 assists on 50% shooting.
Defense? Lol! Kobe was a defensive beast for only 3-4 of his years of his 17 year career.

From Nov. 2012
"There was a time when Bryant was a legitimately outstanding defender, anchoring the Lakers' first Phil Jackson-coached dynasty as a true two-way terror. In the 1999-2000 regular season and the 2001 playoffs, the Lakers had a pair of the best team defensive showings ever with Bryant as their top wing defender. In the 2004 playoffs, L.A.'s defense was 12 points better per 100 possessions when Kobe was on the court. During that time, Bryant racked up five consecutive (and well-deserved) All-Defense nods, three of which placed him on the first team.
But from that point on, there hasn't been a lot of evidence suggesting that Bryant has even been a good defender, much less one of the NBA's best.
In 2004-05, Kobe logged 40.7 minutes per game for one of the 40 worst defensive teams in league history, with the Lakers' defense somehow getting 2.4 points worse when he was on the floor. That touched off an eight-year stretch over which Bryant still garnered seven All-Defense selections despite the Lakers being little more than an average defensive team -- and actually playing one point per 100 possessions worse defensively with Bryant in the game.
While not exactly on the same level as Derek Jeter's host of ill-gotten Gold Gloves, Bryant's annual All-Defense recognition seems more and more like a legacy pick with each passing year. Adjusted plus/minus suggests he's no more than an average defender at this stage of his career, and at age 34 his best defensive days are likely in the rearview mirror. Bryant ranks among the NBA's all-time great players, and is still one of its best offensive threats, but his defensive impact has been overstated for years.
