If he's in protection mode, it'll be over but the Spurs will win.

If he bites the bullet and takes the shots the Spurs give him (long two's) it'll be under but the Heat will win the series.

It will change....I think LeBron will be very prepared against the strategy of Pop this time....we'll see

The long two is not a good idea for LeBron...The 3 points, that's what will make the difference(Like the game 7 last year)

Actually, Lebron's career average fg% against the spurs is 50,2%. Thought it would be lower.

Lebron will be dared to shoot especially if first gm or two he is getting to basket or posting up..spurs will go to the pack the paint strategy at some point.

Under. LeBron will have his usual Finals performance...that is to say, he'll be worse than his RS stats.

He shot 56% against a superior defensive team that featured 2 all NBA defenders. Smart money suggests over 45% by a comfortable margin.

He wasn't in protection mode...He was taking all the shots the Spurs were giving him including the long 2s and the 3s. How do you protect your FG% taking over 5 3 pointers a game?

Only 18 FGA per game in the finals for the "best player in the world" sure as hell is..

Yeah, and if it was 21 fg/game I'm sure that would've overcome the 20 point defecits that they faced right? His FGA were low because 3 of the 5 games were over before the 4th, and he ended up playing minimal amount of time in the 4th quarter of those games. Additionally, he missed most of the 4th as well in game 1 due to leaving the game. He had only 1 game out of the 5 that he actually played all 4 quarters fully in which he took 22 shots.

That's all assuming that taking 18 shots is "protecting FG%" to begin with which is an asinine premise. The number of shots he takes depend on what he's trying to do on the court within the concept of a 5 on 5 team basketball game, not what some kids on the internet talk about.

He was in protection mode. Period. Go watch the games. He never forced the issue. Still no apologies. I'll wait.

lol at "period" Yeah, I guess because you say so and add the punctuation it makes you right, even though it was pretty clear throughout the games that that's not true.

Basketball Reference isn't helping a ton (not great at searches there), but I put in Finals games, players who took 18+ shots per game, and I'm seeing a lot of winners in there (Hakeem, Jordan, Kobe, Jabbar, Shaq, Wade in 06, Bron in 12 and 13), but not a lot of bran 14.

Why is that?

Well obviously it's the FGA and nothing else...

After all, why would how the other 13 or so players getting time in the finals series have any effect on the game? It's clearly all about one player's FGA and nothing else right?

Any other non sequiters you'd like to get out of the way?

And you should probably look closer...LeBron's on there in 2014 as much as 2012 lol.

Larry Bird Never averaged over 19 FGA in a finals series he won in his career. Is he not a "winner"? Same with Magic. Not gonna look it up but i bet it's similar with Duncan. Are these players not winners? You're comparing Apples to Oranges. Amount of shots has nothing to do with will to win or not caring enough.

Remember when Pauk blamed Dwyane Wade for the Heat losing in '11? That's what you sound like right now.

i love how these haters have everything set up for lebron. if he goes under he sucks and is a choker, if he played the best offense for his team and basically was the only scorer on good percentage he's protecting his fg percentage. taking 5 3 points per game. you guys are making yourselves too obvious and looking like fools.

What does 19 have to do with 18?
