Need help starting my lawn mower

So I bought a lawn mower brand new , I am alone this week in the house and I have to cut the grass urgently , I have no idea how to work a lawn mower since I used to live in a desert area(no grass) and I tried hard reading the manual , going on youtube etc. I am not even sure if I put in then oil right, how much and if I need to put anything else in. Also I tried pulling the starter cord and it wont pull for some reason even when i grip the clutch. Its pissing me the f off , can someone please give me help/complete tutorial. Again I have zero knowledge of lawn mowers.

Need 2 people. Take off the air filter, hold your hand over the intake, pull the cord, let it start and quickly put the air filter back on

did you put oil into the gas tank?

the cord wont pull because you are too weak, something is jammed in the blades, or your starter coil is jammed. i suspect the first.

Because last time I had a problem that couldn't be fixed , it eventually got fixed because of this forum

by oil I hope he means petrol, I'm assuming his lawn mower has a starter button you need to hold like my whipper snipper has.

I ended up borrowing my neighbours lawn mower , I showed him my lawn mower and he couldn't work it either so I'm gonna go repair it.
