is brans finals record if the spurs wins, how would you rate this from wilt to 10?

The 2 is all that matters. The league is 70 years old and nobody ranked people by finals losses till like...2012. And Even then it was only on the internet among people under 20 and fans like you joking about it.

Nobody is gonna give 2 shits if a guy loses 3-4 times in the finals if he has multiple rings to go with it.

Its how many times you win. Always has been. And even that is a joke much of the time.

I would judge LeBrons success once his stint is done in Miami, as the goal was to win championships there, Cleveland shouldnt be a negative on his career.

Assuming he loses to the Spurs, he made 4 finals and won two of them, is that a success based on the expectations?

Thats up for discussion.

you mean 2/5 or 2-3

Kblaze8855
06-03-2014, 07:36 PM
If he were 6-7 he would be ranked exactly where he is now...only having had a better career assuming the extra finals was an unlikely early trip to the finals his team shouldnt have been able to make.

Would you rather have a player with
11 rings out of 13 attempts

or a player with 6 rings out of 6 attempts?:confusedshrug:

ah, the classic question of efficient vs dominant.

interesting, in this context lebron appears to be neither efficient nor dominant.

Exactly, basing effectiveness as a player on efficiency is like saying Perkins>>>>>>>>>Kobe.

I understand why you chose those numbers, but that's an even comparison. 11 is almost double 6 and 11 out of 13 is still a ridiculous Finals win percentage.

I give it a 4/10 (doubled both figures).

Id like to add for the record...Russell is 11-12 and in the one loss he had a broken ankle.

Nobody started counting Finals losses until 2008 when Kobe lost his second. That's when the branstans went into overdrive about Finals losses.

Now that it might turn around and bite them in the ass, they're backtracking and saying it doesn't matter.

Making the Finals at all is a big deal. I don't think losing in them tarnishes your legacy at all.

I agree. People on this forum think it's better off to not make the finals at all :facepalm

False. In 2008 Lebron had no rings and a finals loss. No one would ever say that Finals losses matter besides Jordan stans so they can prop up 6/6.

If the Heat lose this year, LeBrons record will be 2-2 in the Finals as the leader

This macro-analysis has got to stop. Some players' legacies are tarnished through Finals's losses. Some aren't. It depends on what ACTUALLY HAPPENED during the Finals in question. People like you need to stop ignoring the details.

Players do very well deserve to have their legacies tainted if they lose a Finals in large part because of poor play, like Kobe did in 2004 and 2008, and Lebron did in 2011, and to a lesser extent in 2007.

This.

When only two teams make the finals each year, just getting there is a valid positive.

and 2008, and Lebron did in 2011, and to a lesser extent in 2007.

2007, why to a lesser extent? Because he had a less than admirable supporting cast and was facing a superior team in the Spurs?

It's either a pass for Bron or an admission of the fact that just getting there for that team was a considerable positive. He was inexperienced and unable to dominate as in his prime. No one faults him for that, as they shouldn't.

Bran never dominates in the finals and if they lose this year he'll be 2/5.
2/4 after the big collusion. Pathetic.

2007: got destroyed and was a no show. Blame it on his team I guess.
2011: single handedly blew the series, worst choke job of all time
2012: played ok, big helping hand from refs though
2013: was pulling a 2011 again even from his stans opinions. Finally showed life in game 6 but saved by ray Allen. Game 7 was good though.
2014: prob lose

Sorry but Kobe is 5/7 and Jordan 6/6.

The fact that he's been to the Finals that many times in an 11 year career is impressive enough

I raise your 6/6 argument with

6/13 6 rings out of 13 seasons played (this is not counting his Wiz days, cus I'm a nice guy like that)

to

11/13 by Russell

Lebron stands at 2/11 right now, possibly 3/11

if we count Jordan's 2 seasons with the Wizard
and the Lebron's realistic chance at exceeding more than just 6 rings.

Would lets say
7/17
be more impressive than
6/15

Who cares about 6/6 when there are years you don't even make it to the finals

Go ask Jordan that question.
