There was a time when Michael Jordan was considered as recognizable/famous as MJ, if not moreso. Not sure if that's still the case, but you know a guy is ridiculously famous when all you need to do is see a logo and you know who it is.

Did someone say the Beatles, lol. More people can name the members of the Jacksons more so than the members of the Beatles. Tito and Jermaine > Ringo and George.
There is no one close to Jackson. Kids born after he died know who Michael Jackson is.
Don't know if there is anyone even close to his popularity. And we're not even talking about 1980s' Michael Jackson, we're talking 2014 MiJac who's been dead going on 5 years.

You may be one of the most deluded people I've ever had the misfortune of encountering. Aside from Michael Jackson the jackson five members are in no way anywhere near the level of fame the beatles members have. Hell Ringo still sells out stadiums on his current tours purely based on his fame and time with the beatles. Everyone can name the beatles and I don't think anyone but yourself would be dumb enough to think Clapton, Dylan or Jagger were in the beatles. Seriously the majority of the general public would be surprised to learn that the jackson five songs weren't just michael jackson songs....

I guess that's how it is for black people in the US. But I sincerely doubt it's how it is for everyone.
With that same logic I could say "Name the Jackson 5" in a random town in the balkans or alps and people might say "Michael!...err Quentin, Jesse, Mark, and Desean?"

Maybe I'm being harsh because your narrow minded and only know your own city but around the world nobody knows or cares about anyone besides Michael Jackson from the jackson five. Honestly if tito or jermaine (who the ****s jermaine) or any other member (who the **** are the other members?) tried to hold a concert at a stadium they would be laughed out of the place. No one would go. Ringo the beatle who is considered talentless still sells out stadiums all around the world to this day. Hell the average person probably can't even name a jackson five song, I can only think of a couple myself. If it weren't for Michaels later career they would be another random band with a couple of decent songs.

Ringo has constantly toured over the years. Besides 2 years ago, The Jacksons haven't toured since 1984.
Another thing, black artist don't do stadium tours besides Michael and the Jacksons. It's never been done, look it up. Jacksons Victory Tour in 1984, first and only tour by black band. Michael's Bad, Dangerous and History tours, only stadium world tour by a black solo artist.
Why, because they won't sell. Prince, James Brown, P-Funk, Earth Wind and Fire, they've never been done. Of course a Tito Jackson world tour won't sell, but Ring Star and his All-Stars will. That's just the way it is
The Beatles, Ringo, ect one of many Rock artist to hold stadium tours.
The Beatles are already great enough, we don't need someone overrating them even more by stating everyone in the world knows all four members and can list all of their songs and albums in one setting.

Yea, this is some of the most ridiculous bullshit I've heard in a while. I would not hesitate to bet my life that any member of the Beatles is FAR more famous and universally recognized than any member of the Jackson 5 besides MJ.
I am a hardcore music buff and have been for years, listening to and reading about/researching music is my primary form of recreational activity, I consider myself (for whatever it's worth) to hold a fairly extensive knowledge on many genres and styles of music............ and I have no idea who the f*ck Tito or Jermaine Jackson are.

Not talking about michael, the argument was that people can name other members of the jackson five but can't name any beatles member which is retarded.
Also to L.Kizzle plenty of black artists play in arenas in Australia and do fine, a guy I work with when to see some Jason Darula (spelling?) dude the other week at the stadium the australian open is held at. I don't know who he is but he said it was pretty packed.

It's not even like Michael Jackson and his family were famous for positive reasons in recent years. MJ was probably the most hated, or at least ridiculed person in America after Osama Bin Laden and George Bush in 2005. Then he suddenly died 5 years ago and the public did a complete 180 when it comes to him. The media frenzy over him obviously kept him famous, but it wasn't like people were saying "Man I can't get enough of Michael Jackson's music!" or "Man, Michael Jackson is a role model"
Janet Jackson had the Super Bowl titty incident
People probably think Randy Jackson is the same dude that was the judge on American Idol

I'm sure you are experiencing some sort of sampling bias here. Maybe in your community or town this is true, but as far as the entire western world is concerned this is the most ridiculous statement ever made. The Beatles are the highest selling artists of all time. They have the most number 1 singles of all time. Michael Jackson as a solo artist is not far behind, but The Jackson Five as a group don't even come close. More people can probably name Michael Jackson than all of the members of the Beatles, but they wouldn't be more likely to know all of the members of the Jackson 5 than all of the members of the Beatles.

The J5, who twice took the Beatles off the top of the pop charts in 1970 and who broke the Beatles European attendance record in 1972. This was ten years before Thriller. This wasn't King of Pop Michael, he wasn't yet separated from his brothers.
