If he wins it this year he will retire. He wanna be no Kobe going down w/ an achilles tear.

There's no way he retires if we lose. Parker, Manu, himself have all alluded to that fact.

I'm not sure what will happen if we win though. I think it's more about being with his kids than it is going out on top -- but he really does want to make up for last year.

:facepalm

He's still one of the best bigs in the game (if you're trying to say he's not elite anymore), and the Spurs are better now than they have been for nearly ten years.

Win or lose this guys a friggen legend either way, real talk.

The guys owed $10 million next season though, these players with the exception of guys like Lebron, Kobe, MJ, will never make this kind of money again and I'd be very surprised if he just left that money on the table (some kind of arrangement would likely be made off the books though I'm sure)

One of the GOAT careers either way, love this guy.

The danger zone is Ray Allen and maybe Birdman. Also surprisingly but I am calculating Chalmers may throw in some good games - not scoring necessarily, but overall he may be able to beat some of the Spurs down over minutes. Dude is stupid as a fencepost but a fine player. Also Wade.

The Spurs need that Steve Adams filthy style of play on Wade. They need to bring in the end of the bench and flagrant foul his face like he did KB24 in that All-Star game. About 3 times. All of which he very richly deserves for being such a PED swilling, flopping, over the hill swine. He's got no Dr. J / Bird / MJ hardness in him. Call down the Bad Boy Pistons on his @ss. He will disappear just like a waif.

As far as on their end of the court, the San Antonio keys to victory are these:
* Manu plays to his level
* Leonard accelerates over even his phenomenal playoff run so far and
* their bench stays at that high level they have been displaying.

They do all that and they can win. But they'll have to figure all that out or it may be a sweaty old sneaker smell all summer

All but certain he plays one more year. Ginobili, Parker and Duncan all expire after next season. I expect Pop, Duncan and Ginobili to retire and TP either stays or moves on for the latter part of his career. If they win, they will defend it. Even if they dont do much next season, it wouldnt be a let down to Duncans career

He literally has nothing left to prove even if he loses, he's already one of the all-time greats.
