View Full Version : Does Tim Duncan Have One Last Epic Playoff Series Left In Him?

Been watching Duncan since his rookie year, and I've never seen him this determined before a playoff series. It seemed so out of character to see him make an off the cuff prediction on winning the the championship after the Thunder series.

They say in boxing that an old fighter has one last great performance in him before he retires. Knowing the Heats' weakness for big men, will we see the best Tim Duncan we have seen in years?

Epic as in, a 24 Y/o Duncan dropping 30/15/5/5 57% TS? Or epic as in 22/12/2/3 60% TS, very good series for an old guy?

This. Duncan will likely have a series that is limited by his age and be remarkable as opposed to matching the numbers in his prime...

I doubt he'll have a mind-blowing statistical series. That's not how the Spurs work. He won't play enough minutes to score more than 24 a game, the offense rarely repeats itself (I can't see Tim getting a post-up isolation very often), and he's too old.

I think if he goes off, he'll average around 21/12/3/2 on .575 TS%. And that'd be pretty fantastic for a player his age.

I thought he played a great series last year and I expect him to play close to that.

Forgetting that missed shot, I thought he raised his game noticeably.

If he puts up 30 on game 5 with 8-9 board, average 25 on game 6 and 7 with double digits in rebounding.

I'll consider that epic for his age.

For a old guy, yes.

He doesn't exactly have a whole lot of resistance on the Heat so probably.

He didn't make the prediction, he said "hopefully we'll do it this time", I don't know why nobody heard it.

Considering the circumstances, he was pretty epic last year too.

If all goes well, he will reiterate that performance. Not only is he a proud competitor, but the Heat are a good team for him to be used as a post option against.

He'll probably average like 19/9 on good %s.

Good. Duncan had a very good series last year -- even if he did miss that vital shot. To be honest, most of us kinda knew it was over after game 6. :(

Still, it's a different year. I just want the ****ing thing to start already.

Yeah I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully Wade and Parker can remain healthy
