I've been helping. I make it a habit to click on the ads because whatever ads that show up, I like the stuff.

I do this a lot already.

What is most important is the viewership that I bring and that usually translates over to people clicking ads.

I've been doing it, but you can't tell me this sites been up for this long and that wasn't enough. But if we truly want to help, we could just donate. How much is it to upgrade to a superior forum? $20 donations, those that donate probably get some type of bonus or way to reward them even as an addition.

Yeah but there are other things that need to be upgraded

1. The layout

I hear its been the same since 2006

2. The servers

This website crashes way to much. And sometimes when theres a lot of traffic, Jeff removes the avatars for a while.

the insidehoops acct already said that he was doing an upgrade on the site... maybe about a year ago. nothing of significance happened on the front end.

he didn't claim he needed money or ad revenue or any help whatsoever. he simply shut down certain features (avatars i think?) for awhile and said he was testing some stuff. but again, nothing ever happened.

not sure if the announcement thread is still around. i couldn't find it using google... guessing that he deleted it.


based on my limited admin experience with vbulletin, he prolly got frustrated with all the complexities, database and security ramifications of the modern builds... probably decided to attack it again in the future.

so anyone who wants to encourage him to upgrade, best thing is probably you offering your deep vB expertise.


also, the current version on ISH (3.5.4) dates to around 2005. the reason it's stamped with the current year at the bottom of the page is likely because he does the security patches and other critical updates.

i almost always find the ISH thread i want through google.

i don't even bother going to google anymore. i just type {insidehoops}{poster}{terms} in the search bar, and firefox send the request to google.

one of the first results will say 'search for more results' and if i click on that, it will do a tight search instead of a sloppy search.

more than good enough for me.

for the first part you could add "posted by fiddy" to what i wrote before for example, you could even organize it by date... beyond that it would be obsessive. having search engine would be good, but let's not act like it's indispensable, people would just use it to call people out

To top it off he spouts BS lies about improving the server and forums but never comes through.
