I was insipred by that jordan v Bird thread.

19 games in total.Pts/reb/ast and fg% W/L

1. Kobe played only 17 minutes
2. Kobe played only 6 minutes
3. Lebron James 25/8/9 40%L Kobe Bryant 26/4/6 32%W Lebron gets the nod
4. Lebron James 28/2/9 50%W Kobe Bryant 27/2/2 43%L Lebron gets the nod
5. Lebron James 29/8/7 40%W Kobe Bryant 38/6/5 32%L Kobe gets the nod
6. Lebron James 18/7/5 30%W Kobe Bryant 36/7/6 50%L Kobe gets the nod
7. Lebron James 38/4/3 60%W Kobe Bryant 34/6/5 41%L Lebron gets the nod
8. Lebron James 33/10/5 40%W Kobe Bryant 21/5/5 36%L Lebron gets the nod
9. Lebron James 41/9/4 50%W Kobe Bryant 33/12/6 47%L Lebron gets the nod
10. Lebron James 23/9/4 36%L Kobe Bryant 20/6/12 40%W Kobe gets the nod
11. Lebron James 16/8/12 25%L Kobe Bryant 19/3/2 47%W Kobe gets the nod
12. Lebron James 26/4/9 47%W Kobe Bryant 35/10/8 33%L Kobe gets the nod barely
13. Lebron James 37/5/9 52%W Kobe Bryant 31/2/4 38%L Lebron gets the nod
14. Lebron James 27/11/10 57%W Kobe Bryant 17/6/7 37%L Lebron gets the nod
15. Lebron James 19/8/9 41%W Kobe Bryant 24/2/2 38%L Lebron gets the nod
16. Lebron James 31/8/8 44%W Kobe Bryant 24/5/7 38%L Lebron gets the nod
17. Lebron James 25/13/7 46%L Kobe Bryant 33/3/1 60%W Kobe gets the nod ( difficult one)
18. Lebron James 39/7/8 68%W Kobe Bryant 22/4/1 32%L Lebron gets the nod
19. Lebron James 32/7/4 66%W Kobe Bryant 28/6/9 58%L Lebron gets the nod(close one)

So there we have it. Two all time greats who never had a chance to play eachother in the playoffs.

Luckily, disregarding Kobe only playing few minutes in their first two match ups, we have seen them play against each other a total of 17 times.

In the 17 games they played against each other , Lebron's team has won a total of 13 of 17
In the 17 games they played against each other, Kobe's team has won a total of 4 of 17

Captain obvious I know for repeating twice

To continue,

In these 17 match ups they played against each other, Lebron has won the match up a total of 11 out of 17 against Kobe Bryant

In these 17 match ups they have played against each other, Kobe has won the match up a total of 6 out of 17 against Kobe Bryant.

No excuses to be made here, we all know whenever these two legends faced each other, they always gave it their best and competed 100%.

What are your thoughts?

Lots of those matchups was prime Kobe v Rookie and Sophmore Lebron

Furthermore...in 2010-11 Kobe was the defending champ.

In 2011-12 he was playing great basketball...Kobe stans calling for MVP

Kobe had the better team in 2009 and 2010. It can even be argued that the 2010 cavs matched up really well against the Lakers.

Most of the other games were either during the Lakers Smush-Walton era or the Heat Super team.

I remember some of those Lakers-Cavs matchups at cleveland too. The refs literally won a few of the matchups for the Cavs in some of them. Impressive numbers by Kobe considering he went 1 vs 5 most of those years :applause:

It seems like you haven't watched one of those games.
Literally that one game was the most rigged ever, somebody should find a video about it on youtube, there definitely was one.
To add to the topic, it seems that every time Kobe went against LeBron literally one against one, he made a fool of him. And on the other end he definitely does great on defense against LeBron.
Sometimes the team couldn't step up, sometimes him himself, but the h2h hasn't got much weigh, it's regular season after all.
If you mentioned PO H2h, which obviously doesn't exist, that would mean more. Like Kobe 4-2 against duncan's teams in series.

Regular season? Yet you have Kobe fans posting all star game pics and gif's in here...

And Lebron fans post regular season h2h like it means anything in the context of Kobe being better than Lebron/Lebron being better than Kobe. It doesn't mean anything because Lebron was too young in the beginning while Kobe was near or in his prime on the Shaq/Kobe lakers in 03 & 04, then Kobe had historically bad teams while Lebron had slightly better ones, then both had decent overall teams and it went either way. Then Lebron joined Miami and reached his prime while Kobe was done after his 3 straight Finals runs...

Still, a 33-year-old Kobe coming off a concussion with a mask destroyed the Miami Heat while Lebron flopped off an old lady in the stands :oldlol:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45ix5EeEYms

That 2012 Lakers would have given Miami a much tougher series than the Thunder. We had a solid front court that year (Bynum played like an all-star and Pau was still good) and Kobe was clutch in most games. That 2012 team would have gone somewhere had we re-signed Phil or got Adelman instead.

in the end its all about modern day titles by legends

in a discussion mvp's will always be discounted due to nash having more than shaq, oscar, kobe, hakeem

at the end of the day every debate comes down to "6 > 5" between kobe and jordan fans... and in bars everywhere or general watercooler discussion... "5>2" is the kobe/lebron discussion

it always comes down to rings between 2 fan basis ... only thing we can both agree on is that russells 11 are inflated and the 60's wasnt legit

to fans everywhere.. 6 modern day tites makes you goat.

a player must win 7 to have any shot at passing mj

kobe needs 2 in the next 5 years

lebron needs 5 in the next 10 years

Invalid and terrible argument.

Many role player have had more rings than Kobe. Horry has 7? And Pau Gasol is most certainly not better than Kevin Garnett because he has two rings.

Sure, it is importan for a superstar to win rings as the main man. However, by those parameters , Lebron and Kobe are both equal at 2 rings a piece as the main man.

When you get that settled, you will proceed on looking at their head to head match up, signature games, performances throughout their career and dominance.

Lebron easily beats Kobe in all of those listed.

kobe & shaq 1a and 1b we both know it so let's move on to your other points

we know good and well horry isn't better than kobe or bran so let's move on again

when you look at the head to head matches you'll realize that bran had 50+ winning seasons while kobe's teams were struggling to make the playoffs in the west so there's that and you'll see by 2010 when the lakers were coming off title runs the team completely changed while bran left clevand to team up with wade and bosh.

we know good and well horry isn't better than kobe or bran so let's move on again

when you look at the head to head matches you'll realize that bran had 50+ winning seasons while kobe's teams were struggling to make the playoffs in the west so there's that and you'll see by 2010 when the lakers were coming off title runs the team completely changed while bran left clevand to team up with wade and bosh.

solid logic.. cant argue the cold hard facts presented by you... "and we both know it" just did it to me.. daaa knowledge

Kobe did punk LeBron completely at that All-Star game, but 4-17 is a pretty brutal record head to head.

Brutal indeed...

Some say Miami was a super team, then they forget in the first match ups Lebron was 19 and 20 years old while Kirby was in his prime..

when you're not trolling you know both kobe and shaq lead those teams so i shouldn't have to get into all that let's be real

and obviously kobe and bran > robert horry only when you're not tryna troll

and i explained the head to head stuff so again i shouldn't have to delve too deep into it we both know that bran hit his stride when kobe was on the down slope if bran entered the league just 2-3 years earlier we'd have a completely different story but as it was his defensive minded cavs teams that were top-seeded in the east feasted on kobe's post-shaq teams and obviously his miami heat superfriends had their way with the post-phil era laker squads.

Lebron easily beats Kobe in all of those listed.

read it again

in the end its all about modern day titles by legends

fans dont care about robert horrys role player rings

Head to head records are irrelevant because

1) doesn't tell us if LeBron or Kobe played minimal/small minutes or sat out some games

2) team quality

3) injuries

4) age

5) length of prime

Also almost every single time, teams decides what goes in a head to head record not players individually...

Kobe as Lebron was afraid to go against Kobe in 2009 and 2010 in the finals.
