Does anyone watch this new series on Showtime? I have seen all 5 episodes so far and it is magnificent. Like a more mature version of Supernatural mixed with the darkness and brutality of Hannibal, acting and dialogue like Game of Thrones and all the subtle themes and pure quality that goes along with it.

It's a little slow, but the narrative just grabs you at certain points and you just watch the episodes like a zombie. Highly recommend this show.

i'll have to check it out but thats a lot of high praise that i'm not sure i'll be agreeing with...

i really like Supernatural even still after like 8-9~ seasons. someone here reccomended another show called Grimm but it was ****in awful. How anyone could even recommend a show where a cop was supposed to be a badass monster but NEVER used it, is a complete joke. I swear if anyone ever recommends such a shitty show to me like Grimm again i'm going to have to explain to them why their tastes suck.

A whole first season of that garbage, and all that main character does is try his best not to become a monster, which makes it a really lame cop show that has to do with monsters. it has 1/1000th the complexity or dimensions of Supernatural. its like Supernatural stripped of 3/4's of the stuff that makes it interesting.

i could rant and rant on how shitty Grimm was, and how ridiculous the idea of him being a Grimm, where they always played it like "oh wow a Grimm"...like it was this big deal but he NEVER used it. I can't emphasize how much i hate this show.

i gave grimm a few episodes and i agree it was horrible. however, i have read reviews that it has gotten much better so i was considering giving it another chance. but there are already so many quality genre shows out there, and more on the way.

sleepy hollow, supernatural, american horror story, hannibal, and game of thrones (the GOAT)

plus upcoming constantine and the strain look really good. it's a great time to be a geek!

I have seen every episode so far. My Non-Spoiler take:

The acting by Eva Green and Timothy Dalton have been top notch. The other people in the cast do a good job not messing up or breaking the tension, which is commendable but not up to the level of the two leads.

The first episode was ok. It was very well made but the story wasn't very good and there wasn't chemistry between the American guy and Eva Green. The end was good but nothing surprising.

The second episode was when the show became exciting. It was a very intriguing piece of horror drama, the performances were individually excelling and coming together in a good manner. Eve Green stole the show, and the shocking ending was awesome.

Episode 3-4 had good moments, but they weren't very memorable, just still interesting enough and the show being shot in such a high quality way that it was worth watching.

Episode 5 is the only episode that i can call great. Thid is the episode tha warrants Hannibal comparison(Hannibal is a top 3 show along with Thrones and Mad Men). The story was superbly intriguing, the cinematoraphy was excellent, and Eva Green had an Emmy worthy performance. She deserves to be nominated just for this episode. Simply amazing.

The horror and gruesomeness was also present in episode 5, it's actually been the only to get me in this way.

In conclusion, the show is very much worth watching, it looks and feels like a high quality show, and while the storyline and the dialogue aren't always high quality... The perfomance of Eva Green and some moments are enough to make up for the lesser moments.

I had every intention of giving this a shot, but there's only so thin one can be spread. I may try it on Demand after next week's conclusion of GoT, and assuming I can plow through the last three quarters of Orange is the New Black I have left to watch of this new season.

It seemed like an interesting concept. Sort of a John Singleton "From Hell", but with a more supernatural twist, which was a movie I enjoyed.

Eva Green may be the best actress going after that e. 5 performance. Magnificent

It's interesting! I always thought it'll be like a Supernatural, but set in the 1800s. There were some memorable moments, and some of them very shocking. But I'm curious where the series will head. I only watched episode 1-4. None of episodes are great like BB or GoT just yet for me, but they don't need to be on that quality to be a good series. It's shot and acted great.

I do like the mature theme to the show. Will be watching more.
