LeBron is constantly responding to social media scrutiny with great on court performances...something MJ never had to deal with

True. Doubt MJ could handle it. He seems like a hot head who'd do something out of line.

MJ apparently was called a chucker in the mid 80's and people thought he was like a Westbrook/Iverson type of player who didn't make his teammates better.
So he had that to overcome.
But that wasn't anything like what Lebron faces.

It s very hard to keep that level of play with that huge scrutiny. Look what happened to Paul George.:oldlol:

The way Jordan's game reacted to criticism and challenges, if there was social media back then, then it would be a source of constant fire. I can only imagine.
It's the main thing that makes him the GOAT to me, that intense focused to shut people up.
Which is also something that I'm seeing a bit in Lebron, though he's had bad situations like the 2011 Finals. That's in the past though.

Jordan was not a hot head. A hot head was someone like Rasheed Wallace. Someone who lets their emotions get the better of him. When Jordan got angered, it just fed an intense focus in the game. An aggressive awareness, with his game being in complete control.

He's one of the great "back against the wall" players of all time. The other side of the coin is that he seems to put himself in those "back against the wall" situations just a bit too often.

Definitely tougher mentally than many athletes.
It's crazy, I mean, we all know hell will come down if Lebron doesn't win the championship every year. He could win 4 straight and lose a game 7 in the finals the 5th time and people would murder him. How does one play having that on your shoulder?

Jordan would crumble in this era. You can't be a degenerate gambler knocking groupies up left and right and get a free pass like Jordan did in his era. Dude would have a Paul George/Dwight Howard scandal every other week.

James has virtually been EXPECTED to win every year since 2009. Ridiculous.
It'll be some kind of day next season when LeBron doesn't win. People will have a field day and throw the entire 3-peat out of the window.

LeBron would get more criticism for ONLY winning 2 chips in a row and not 3-peating as an underdog than Durant gets for not winning at all.
If LeBron does 3peat, he'll get more heat for not 4peating than KD will get for not winning again.

very true. lebron separated himself so far from KD this post season though yet there will still be some talk about how KD has surpassed LBJ if he has a better regular season than bron again
