Imagine they are all aged 18-19 and you have to pick 1 of them to lead your team.

You dont know who your coach is, or who else is on your team, but you have to pick one of them as your franchise player for the next decade and a half.

Who do you pick?

Duncan or Kobe. Duncan has the size plus all the other stuff. Kobe has the biggest balls plus all the other stuff.

In this era, Duncan because he would shit all over these weak Centers.

Duncan first then Lebron...Durant may get ahead of Kobe due to size and ability of a scorer. Wade is def last picked to me in this group

I am picking Duncan. A post player who can play with his back to the basket as well as facing up.

The only ones I would pick today over Lebron James are Michael Jordan and Shaquille Oneal.

Duncan comes close, but, Lebrun is Lebrun

Lebron and its not so close.
Give him a team with 11 random players and you have a place in conference finals or finals for sure. Give him an all star 2nd option and you have multiple championships. The guy was basically a one man team.

Duncan is a close second, but Im not sure how would he play in some other system and under some other coach.

Wade because he can take over games on both sides while still creating for his teammates. Lebron a very close second.

So Lebron on the Bucks would make them a conference finals team?

That's ridiculous dude.

If we have knowledge of these players coming in as they were rookies then I'd probably choose Duncan.

the guy with the most success, 5 rings, 7 finals, the longest prime and whos beatin more 50 win teams in the playoffs than any other Hall of famer

it took lebron till age 28 to learn how to post up and win games in the clutch

kobe was doing it at age 21

Duncan in this era would win 5 rings easily

Kobe won first finals mvp in his 13 season...30 or 31....Lebron>Kobe and its really not too close

LeBron
Duncan
Kobe
Durant or Wade--Can't decide. Wade has the better peak (for now) but Durant will probably end with far, far better longevity/durability.

in order: lebron, wade, duncan, kobe, durant.

lebron: made it to the finals with a bunch of scrubs, terrible coach.
wade: 35ppg in the finals, carrying his team alone to a championship.
duncan: needs a hall of fame coach and system to win.
kobe: needs a hall of fame coach, dominant big man to win.
durant: can't win with another perimeter all-star, gets shut down by players one foot shorter than him, limited offensive game, not that great at getting team mates involved.

What is a Laker "stan" bro? A "stan" is a fan obsessed with an individual player. Maybe you meant Kobe stan...?

I'd probably pick Lebron, he's the most gifted athlete. Though now, in retrospect I'd pick Kobe or Duncan, depending on where I am. Duncan and Kobe really reflect their environments.

Wade was like a 3 star recruit no?

1a. Duncan (Great big with d and offense)
1b. Lebron (Great wing with size and strength that no one has seen before)

Tough to choose between the Duncan and Lebron but leaning towards Duncan since I feel like it would be easier to build around him.

2. Durant
3. Wade
4. Kobe

why's that ridiculous? he basically was doing that in 2007 so it's not ridiculous at all.

Wade will never lead a Team to a Final as the man.

Proven fact.

Ballout in a Finals , sure.

But actually lead his Team? Nah , he needs to Team up with Conference rivals.

Oh yea, and that stan shit works both ways, the only people putting Lebron and Wade over Duncan and Kobe is the Heat's Bandwagon.

Besides you know Wade and Lebron need each other to win titles.

kobe won his first finals mvp 5 years after having a chance to win one

no way shaq was gonna let kobe take as many shots as he did in the wcf's or semifinals... shaq was dead set against kobe winning a finals mvp.

so he finally got rid of shaq and it only took 5 seasons before he was at the top

lebron on the other hand was given his own team from day 1... and he didnt win a finals mvp till after a decade in the league.. and it took him allot more help to do it

Parker won an FMVP over Duncan one year because he balled out in the Finals.

Does that mean he was ever the man over Timmy?

Hell Nah.

Shaq was the leader of that Team and without him they wouldn't of even sniffed a Finals.

Wade balled out in the Finals, worthy of a FMVP thats pretty much it.

I'd select Duncan. He has the stats, fundamentals, professionalism and longevity to keep my team in contention regularly. He's a skilled big man that hits at a high percentage. If you have a star center like Duncan it gives you versatility and mismatches no matter what offense you run. Hed be easy to pair with other stars or competent players similar to Gino and Parker.

it's gotta be

1. duncan/lebron
2. D. Wade if he stays healthy
3. Kobe - building around kobe would also mean you'd have to have the best front court that season to win :lol
4. KD way too beta though

Wade's health is such a damn shame, because I would take him first if he were guaranteed some sort of health. This guy was something else for me, he just had that takeover capability from day one. Reminded me of Jordan so much.... the way he would slash and do whatever he could to lead his team to a W.
