31/11/7 in another. 36/5/7 in another.

So why is ESPN acting like LeBron, after probably his best finals game ever (which is still worse than of MJ's best finals series averages...) is anywhere close to the GOAT?

Let the man catch up to Kobe, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem, Wilt, Russell, and then Kareem before acting like he is anywhere near the GOAT.

best defensive team he faced in the finals were the sonics and his numbers dropped alot

Which is arguably as good if not superior defensive team than these Spurs (who aren't even the best defensive version of themselves aka the 2000s Spurs)

His absolute worst finals series was putting up 27/5/4/2 on 54% TS against the #2 defense in the league :oldlol:

...because of the fact that it was on 14-22 shooting.

He also played less minutes due to his injury/cramp from the first game and would have had 40 with regular minutes

And lol at you mentioning Kobe there, now i know why you're such a terrible poster.

LeBron isn't at that level yet, and I dont think he will ever be, I think his position will be the second tier underneath Jordan, Kareem and Russell, there is nothing wrong with that.

Bruh, don't you hate ESPN, ive seen u make like a dozen threads about them this year.

Do you really think they're gonna get people to watch if they compare LeBron to Hakeem or Shaq or Wilt?

No, its more interesting for the public/casual fans to compare Lebron to Mike

Kobe has 5 rings and plenty of impressive playoff performances to his name. 2 rings with a worse supporting cast than LeBron has ever won with.

Oh but wait, winning sidekick rings with Shaq is a bad thing while LeBron choked away his chance at a "sidekick" ring. :oldlol: :oldlol:

Nah, Bran and Kobe are pretty mediocre finals performers, and that's the point of this thread...

true, their production overall drops in the finals, but kobe's best (to date) on the biggest stage is still significantly above lebrons best (to date) on the biggest stage.

LeBron's 35 came on 21 FGA (at a 67% rate) and 5 FTA.

MJ did indeed average 41 points in the 93' Finals--but he took 33 FGA and 8 FTA per game to get there on 51% FG shooting and 69% FT shooting while playing 46 MPG (there was a double overtime game).

Besides, what does given props to LeBron have to do with what one guy did two decades ago? Is giving credit to Brady a shot at Montana?

LOL at the stat whores. The game was different back then. You cant compare the two base on stats alone. :oldlol: and im not saying lebron is better than MJ. I wont argue on this topic, you cant change another man's opinion if they choose to be an ignorant hater. :hammerhead:

Not really, Kobe has never really had a GREAT finals performance tbh. I guess 09 is his best? And Bran torched Orlando the same year. Maybe you could argue another year...

And Kobe has never had a significantly better finals series than LeBrons 29/10/7 in 12'

Do you have Russell a tier above LeBron, Shaq, Kobe, Magic, Bird, and Hakeem because of his rings or actual impact?

Rings, I think an exception needs to be made for him, I understand context and era etc, but everybodys place in the top 10 is for different reasons, if it was purely rings Russell would be number 1, however I prefer them to be in a tier.

Lebron will never be the offensive equal of Michael Jordan, but he is able to contribute in other ways. I mean he literally can do everything well above average. That's why when he does score 30+ points in a playoff game it's also going to mean his team gets heavily involved which is why his team is 52-15 for a .776 win percentage. Jordan when he scores 30 points in a playoff game sometimes the other players on his team lose out and so his team is only 77-32 for a .706 win percentage.

Yea I understand that, but I still feel that he holds his place in history, 11 ring and an 8-peat is amazing, regardless of who he played with.

People are there for different reasons, Wilt for example, he wasn't considered the best "winner" by any means, but his statistical dominance is why he is seen in some peoples top 10s.

Diaw didn't even really guard Bron last year. The Spurs who philosophy was to LET LeBron shoot, and bank on his lack of confidence in his aggressiveness or abilities.

No one guarded him last year. Watch game 7. The Heat won the game because LeBron was left wide open on EVERY possession. They just backed off him, and guarded the penetration.

2011 Mavericks saw OLD ass Jason Kidd, and Shawn Marion guarding LeBron. Guys that Jordan routinely torches as a 40 year old in 2002, and 2003. Some of MJ's highest scoring games came on Kidd, and the #1 ranked defense New Jersey Nets those seasons. That's without any more athletic ability.

Marjele wasn't the only one who tried to guard MJ in '93. His feet were too slow to stop penetration, even though he had the size, length, and strength to stay with him.

So they switched KJ on him, who was super quick. MJ abused him in the post, and with the jumper.

Suns also threw Tony Dumas on him. A guy who was like Stacey Augmon in terms of athleticism, length, and size.

jordan shot 44% h2h vs jason kidd (http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=jordami01&p2=kiddja01)
