if it's been more than a week since you had your interview or phone interview, then just forget about that job. They don't want you.
I hate whenever HR people don't get back to you even if they don't want you. It's really bad mannerism. It really shows how terrible of a person they are.

After filling out an application? Could take a while. The company might just want to hold off on the interview stage until it feels it has collected enough resumes. I applied to a position probably a month ago and they sent me an email that they are just starting the resume review process and I should expect to hear back in a week or two. After an interview, normally a week or two. There is usually some time in between where they are meeting with other candidates.

I've had anywhere from a week to about 2 months.

I was offered a job the other day for October. They took 5 weeks to get back to me, then offer a job in the future. It reminds me when I got my first cheque book I would give my sister cheques for the year 2478 for like a zillion dollars.

oh the horror

I once applied for a job at a computer store even though I was over qualified for the job, they got back to me 5-6 months after applying when I had already been working in a job I was actually qualified for for most of that time. They called up saying they loved my application and wanted me to come in for an interview but I pretty much had the job, do they really think someone will just be sitting around for 6 months waiting on that shitty job?

I had to wait a month once before UPS called me and told me I was hired and had to work 3:30 am the next day.

I thought after 1 week that I was done. And in 90% of scenarios you probably are.
