View Full Version : Who will win 2014 Finals MVP for the Spurs?

After the first two games it was clearly Tim Duncan who put up 20/10 on 70% FG, but now it becomes a question since both Leonard and Parker have stepped up in game 3/4. I honestly cant tell who will get the FMVP this time, maybe game 5 will decide it? Is there a chance multiple players win it together?

If Spurs close in 5 and Leonard has a good game, I think it's him. Media hyping him enough already. He's obviously the next PG (in terms of push for a star).

Leonard easily because he has played unbelievable ON MIAMIS FLOOR

Yeah, Kawhi Leonard's name stands out right now, he should be leading FMVP odds right now.

Yeah good point. I hope TD gets FMVP this time since it may be his last chance, while Leonard can still win it next year as hes younger and still improving.

Leonard because he is outplaying Bron on both ends and they are MATCHED UP AGAINST EACHOTHER.

Diaw, easily.

Has to be KL, unquestionably the catalyst in these two wins on the road. Parker winning would be a farce, and Timmy hasn't done enough IMO.

Kawhi has been big these past 2 games, but Duncan has been unbelievably consistent the whole series. Hard to decide, but could be Kawhi because he has a better story.

Leonard took a huge lead for MVP.

- 3W-1L
- Outright Game 3 MVP. Historical FG% performance.
- Outright Game 4 MVP. 20-14-3 with 3 blocks and 3 steals.

Duncan was Game 1 MVP, but he wasn't clearly outright MVP because LeBron was good until AC and cramp issues. He was good in Game 2 but that was a loss.

If Spurs win #4, Leonard without a doubt have another monster game. He seems like he cant be broken at the moment. Dude is a stone cold killa!

Kawai has been the best player the last two games. He was a non-factor the first two games.

I think with another strong performance and a Spurs win in game 5 he would deserve it though.

Right now it's a toss up between Duncan/Leonard/Parker.

After 4 games, it's still Duncan. Has yet to have a bad game, 3 double doubles, and has been the most consistent Spur overall.

If Leonard has another performance like that, its him all the way.

He went out there with a chip on his shoulder and out-competed the best player in the world on the road after really being marginalized in the first two games.

If not him, Duncan for having the most consistent impact on both ends of the floor all series long.

does FMVP have to be from winning team?

How is NOT Leonard? Dude outplayed the best in the game in back-to-back games to turn the series.

Diaw deserves it but it will probably be Leonard or Timmy. Diaw doesn't score enough to get the award but damn me if he doesn't do everything else for the Spurs. Truly fantastic player.

My guess, Leonard gets it if he has a solid game 5 and the Spurs close it out.

Yes because any player who is choking in the 4th quarter should not be considered FMVP.

West won the FMVP in the losing end because he is very dominant and clutch.

Series isnt over.
I'm the biggest Duncan stan here, but A Spurs fan first, give it to the team.
DUNCAN has played good in all four games. Leonard has played great in two. Parker is nowhere near them.

Because the first two games he was a non-factor. He wasn't even in the top 5 Spurs for those games I don't think.

Kawhai Parker or Diaw. Duncan didn't do much on the biggest games (throttling the Heat on their home floor).

Leonard has been great the last two games but the first two he average 9ppg I would go with Diaw he has made important shots and big plays

Agreed. Diaw has been the x-factor for San Antonio. He's a big reason they can play the way they do and allows them to play unorthodox lineups and exploit mismatches. That being said, I'll have no qualms with Kawhi getting the FMVP if SA does close it out.

Because the voters(who are they?) dont give a fk about anything except who has the best series ppg. Kawhi turned the tide.. with context he deserves it

You guys are serious with Diaw ?

6.5/8.5/5.5 ? That's not getting you Finals MVP. Last guy to win a Finals MVP while scoring under 10ppg was Wes Unseld in 78.

So far its Kawhi Leonard, 100%.

Hes been a catalyst all series long.. does a ton outside the stat sheet.. forces mismatches, swings it, gets buckets when theyre needed. He's been 90% impact of any other FMVP candidate on spurs eye test imo

Leonard was at best the 7th best Spurs in game 1. Arguably the worst.

He was at best the 5th best player in game 2.

He was the best player in game 3 and 4.

To compare,

Duncan was at worst the 2nd best player in game 1.

At worst the 3rd best player in games 2 and 3.

At worst the 4th best player in game 4.

No 100% Leonard at all. What have you done for me lately ass shit right there, and Kawai is one of my favorite players in the entire league.

Tony Parker. Stop looking at numbers and watch the game, his penetration is wrecking the Heat's defense.

Looks like Timmy to me. Sugar K was trash the first 2 games, sublime the next 2 but Old Man Riverwalk has been steady all 4 games.

Tony Parker. Stop looking at numbers and watch the game, his penetration is wrecking the Heat's defense.

Spurs O is far better with Tony on the bench and Diaw/Ginobli in the game.

Tony Parker is a good candidate for FMVP but tonight everyone was penetrating Miami, Diaw was driving the lane they were playing him like he's Ray Allen

When parker ballhogs, the spurs beautiful ball movement grinds to a stop. the offense is much better with manu mills and diaw

my vote would be for leonard or duncan they affect the defense much more than parker

If Parker wins fmvp it will be a ****ing travesty. Dude is a stat padding ball hog. Spurs do not need him to win. Spurs did not need him to close out the Thunder on the road. **** Tony Parker. Leonard or Duncan.
