Spurs FG%:

Game 1: 59%
Game 2: 44%
Game 3: 59%
Game 4: 57%

League average for FG% is 45%. In the finals, supposedly defense get much tighter compared to regular season.

What in the world is going on???? :biggums: :biggums: :biggums:

Its always hilarious seeing LEASTern conference supporters bark about their supposed defensive superiority. Its easy to look good defensively when u have so many shit offensive teams in ur conference.

Miami relies heavily on traps and athleticism. Theyre older now Lebron is a negative on defense

Whats going on is the Spurs do not utilize ANY perimeter isolation. Thats what is responsible for that 45% league average.

The Spurs shoot a high % bc they take high % shots. Theres no secret to it. They play smart basketball, not And-1 street iso ball.

Miami's defense has not been great all year. San Antonio is just carving them up.

You mean the Miami Heat supporters ? When were "East stans" (seriously, who stans a conference ? That's some new level of stanning) clowning the West ?

And there have been like a 1,000,000 million threads about the West being better or how the playoff format should be 1-16 and shoved down everyone's throats.

In the words of the Houston commentator in 1995, they're getting bamboozled.

The Spurs in game 3 were more on fire and couldn't miss. I think I would excuse that game.

The other games tho isn't inexcusable. While the Spurs are a great offensive team, the Heat have to play with more energy on defense.

hard to play defense against a team like the spurs when you're used to playing teams like the Bobcats, sixers and bucks:lol

That's just terrific offense  They look for the best shots, they take advantage of mismatches, they don't stagnate the ball or milk the clock purposedly, they have good shooters, players that can score inside, they're very smart with high IQ, they can push up the tempo, they're just amazing at moving the ball... I'd say, some great throwback basketball at its finest, if that happened back in the day some people would be talking about terrible defensive era and what not though, fact is that it's much harder to play D against great offensive basketball, keep bringing up that 'more complex defensive schemes' bullshit though :oldlol:
Heat are not as good defensively as they used to be, not even that close, also... And they didn't face a great offensive team in the Playoffs, in the East.

The Spurs coaching staff has clearly done a pretty thorough study on how the Heat defend in the half court and they drew up a game plan to exploit the many glaring flaws they saw.

Constant ball movement, guys constantly moving without the ball, tons of screens being set...and not just screens for the hell of it, usually always screens in just the right place so the right guy is getting the ball and seeing several options available.

The Spurs have had to make relatively few adjustments in the series while Miami has flat out failed to make any in the three games they've lost and the one game the Spurs choked away. They're relying purely on talent to try and haul them out of some 10-20 point deficits and its not working this time around.

Pop is playing Chess...Spoelstra is playing Tiddly-Winks.

Basically this.

The Heats defense is aimed at stopping a modern offense. The Spurs play old school basketball.
