all these guys on here making list after list as if your opinion means something. who here has played or coached on the college or NBA level?
even if you consider yourself a highly knowledgeable "fan", outside of this board your list means nothing.

You must be angry because damn near all of the top 10/20 lists don't include LeBron* anymore.
Cry more, pseudo fan.

Of course they dont. People have been talking shit about the greats for 60 years with nobody giving a shit on a grand scale.

Outside of the board, it means nothing? That's why I post it on the board and don't go around casually discussing top ten player lists with people who may or may not be as knowledgeable about the game as I am.
Don't see the issue.

Sure it does public opinion determines a large part of their sponsorship. Lebron going 2 for 5 hurts him because of what i and the next person thinks. Sponsors will look for the next big thing. The lebron era is closing

Kblaze these guys spend day and night talking about this stuff like they're Jack Ramsay or Red Auerbach. Half of em didn't make the junior high team and wouldn't know a pick and roll from a give and go. Legacy this, legacy that. shit's hilarious.

so by that logic Duncan should have huge endorsements

No discussion here "matters". That's not why people do it. You know what the point of these forums are right? :facepalm

I've never said he was. not ever. I leave that to people with expertise. even if someone ranked Lebron no.1 on this board it means nothing.

just an outlet to talk and have some fun while forgetting about our troubles.
for me it's an escape from the things i've seen and done. sometimes i lay at night, or i'm at home relaxing and a tear falls down my cheek. i then lean back in my chair and wonder, "why?" then everything i've done comes flooding back to me, as well as everything i've seen. it becomes extremely overwhelming to the point where i have to do something else. i have to move, i have to get up, i have to post on the forums, just something. usually i have a checklist of things i do to get my mind off of it. listen to happy music such as "god only knows" by the beach boys, get on youtube, play some games, just anything.
this forum helped save my life and i'm eternally grateful to jeff.

if it was just good ole fashioned basketball discussion, that would be great but this is low level my guy is greater than your guy because type stuff.
I like Kobe, Jordan, Bron, Wade, Duncan, Bird, Magic etc. but on this board you just can't do that.

What are you, the nihilist of the board? I could question if anything in life matters, let alone people discussing basketball on the internet. It's just something fun for people who enjoy basketball to do, nothing more, nothing less

Lol, ok, they might not enjoy "basketball" per say, but they sure as shlt enjoy hyping up their favorite player and knocking their rivals down at every single opportunity

we have a winner. compare the discussions on this board to a roundtable of experts who let's say actually played or coached basketball and notice the difference.

OP i don't know about you but I've been contacted directly by NBA coaches, scouts, etc on my opinions. You are right about most people's opinions not mattering, but for that's the complete opposite.

The lists are pointless because most series are predetermined anyway.

this is the most perfect description of nihilistic attitude i ever heard.
