Why is everyone saying this Spurs team is Amazing?

None of their players are phenomenal scorers, they all pass first and buy in to a timeless coach and believe in his philosophy. Plus, no one thought that this team would be up 3-1 against the team that literally broke their hearts last year.

People are caught in the moment. Not to mention, they have yet to win the championship. They still have to beat Miami, which will not be an easy task. Series could easily be tied if not for the cramp game.

Anyhow....

This Spurs squad had trouble versus a depleted Mavs team. The Mavs took them to 7 games in the first round. Imagine what the 2011 Mavs would have done. They have no one that could stop 2011 Dirk.

Not to mention, the 2012 OKC had Durant, James Harden, healthy Ibaka, Westbrook. That team would destroy the current Spurs. Hell, with a healthy Ibaka OKC would have beaten this Spurs team.

2012 Heat would also beat this Spurs team.

Then you have all the other great teams like the 09 Lakers, etc. 08 Celtics and the 04 Pistons with Billups, Ben Wallace, etc.

I mean, this Spurs team is good. However, they're not some power house that we have never seen before.

2001 Lakers would completely destroy this team. Prime Kobe with Prime unstoppable Shaq. Lakers would win in 5, possibly sweep.

Exactly. It's actually embarrassing how bad their defense is right now. I was watching the game last night, and at one point I felt like the Spurs would score on every possession.
