What grade would you give Phil Jackson, so far, on his job in New York?
Phil Jackson's current accomplishments in NY:
- Got an inexperience head coach in Derek Fisher
Phil Jackson's current failures in NY:
- Failed to acquire the head coach he really wanted in Steve Kerr
- Melo leaving
So, what grade do you give Phil Jackson right now?

Wait to grade until him after he's brought Bran to the Big Apple.
Didn't he take over after the trade deadline? He hasn't had time to do shit. Normally people say "Let's wait till we see some games," but he hasn't even had time to create a roster.

Lebron not making the same mistake Melo did.

So far I give him an F but if he can convince Melo to leave I'd upgrade it to a C

I'd give him a D so far.

That's about the grade I would give him. Guy is getting paid well above the league average for his position. However, so far, he has failed to deliver.

Imagine if Phil's first move is losing NYK's franchise player to Pat Riley?

Not going to grade the first couple of months of what is basically a 5 year project.

I would give the Zen master an "Incomplete." It is still early.

At?
Please.
Fisher is the known leader and will be respected much more by the players. Kerr got his ass kicked by MJ and was a failed experiment in Phoenix. I guarantee you Fisher knows the triangle better and I guarantee you he commands more respect from players.
oh the horror

This is what makes people funny now.
Grading a guy based off of literally a month and a half or so period and hasn't had even ONE off season?
That's ridiculous. How do you know the Fisher experiment won't work? Here's a shocker kids...Phil Jackson and Pop were once rookie coaches themselves.
I know I know. Hard to believe.

He hasn't delivered anything though. He hired a rookie coach who so far we don't even know how it's going to turn out.
WTf were the Knicks doing before? NOT MUCH.
Is everyone crazy here?
can we at least wait for the offseason to start? Generally it's best to actually let a person start doing his job before you give them a review. I know in this age of instant everything some people need instant results but that's not how the real world works...
Levity said it best, this is like rating a movie after the opening credits... Let's let things unfold before we start making judgements instead of basing them on thin air
So far we see Derek Fisher as a coach which is still several months away from even being close to review... I think the only move we could realistically review judging by the pic of Phil walking down the street is it's clear Raymond Felton is gone for good...I think Phil ate him

Phil looks like Phillip Symour Hoffman.
R.I.P. to a great actor.

Really? The offseason hasn't even started. How can anyone grade his job so far?

if you think 2nd round exist without having any bad contracts on your book, it looks quite promising.
if you are hoping Phil Jackson to build a contending team, you really can't tell until year 3 or 4.
which means, he might want to start looking into the possible moves in year 3 and 4 and start planning now. Without having the current team suffer one beat, or even appears to be going for a home run move in year 3 and 4.
