View Full Version : So is there pressure on LeBron to perform in Game 5?

This is a two sided debate

On one hand, you can argue that the pressure isn't there since everyone already expects the Heat to lose (No team has come back from 3-1 in the Finals). Also the supporting cast hasn't been there, so the blame isn't mostly on LeBron as he still put up solid numbers while his team has struggled.

On the other hand, he could potentially go 2/5 in the Finals, and in some people's eyes fall off the GOAT discussions. He would also spend an entire summer taking criticism, with media analysts like Skip Bayless talking smack for an entire Summer, and general basketball fans criticizing him for the next year.

He better go out guns blazing. Forget the stats. Forget the percentages. Unload your clip, son. 6-24 style if need be.

Lay it on the line.

Miami is honestly really good in elimination games. I don't know if they can win 3.

there is pressure on Lebron to perform in almost any playoff game but the way his teammates are playing he should go into Iverson mode.

The Heat need to play their style of ball and not be so lazy/passive as a whole. Everyone needs to show up and go out guns blazing. If nobody else shows up, LeBron at least needs to go out swinging.

That's stupid even if he wins game 5 he'll just automatically lose in game 6 from being too tired. You can't beat the Spurs with just scoring. The only reason SA lost in game 2 was because they weren't passing the ball as much as they did in game 3 and 4. Miami's defense is non existent spurs getting way too many opened shots. They're literally doubling players like boris diaw which led to a tiago splitter dunk. :biggums: They need to play better defense and have a scoring option outside bran. IE bosh + lewis and maybe wade but leonard's been shutting his ass down.

LMAO coming from a fan of a player who hasn't sniffed the post season in 2 years, and is basically semi-retired

SAS's offense is exactly against Miami's defensive weaknesses. Bigs and 3s.

Win or lose i expect Lebron to play like he did against celtics couple years back or pacers where he is in attack mode from the outset and dont let up. If heat come out lethargic and Lebron is in passive mode and they get down double digits by the end if first im done watching.

if you share the ball and your teammates don't produce and you're the top player in the world, you increase your output. it's been proven to work in certain big games in history. you don't play for tomorrow when you're facing elimination.

correct on the defense but you still have to score.

Nope, no pressure at all for the best player in the world on the biggest stage. He should be coasting to rest for next year IMO.

you can't pressure Lebron.

I told you, he isn't coachable.
we are better off letting him think the environment is a creation of himself.
