View Full Version : How terrible is Tony Parker?

0-6 in closeout game 5 so far.

Didn't play in the closeout game against the Blazers this year.
Didn't play in the closeout game against the Thunder(scared of Westbrook?)

Dude was 6-23 in Finals game 6 last year. 3-12 in Finals game 7.

He's only had one good playoff series in his entire career and that was with Boobie Gibson defending him in the 2007 Finals. Worst playoff performer of his generation. He's got to be most overrated point guard in the NBA.

Anybody that says he's better than Westbrook, Paul, or Curry is a moron.

Best PG in the league. :lol More important to the team than Duncan. :lol

I honestly think Spurs would be better off starting Mills and Parker coming off the bench.

Imagine how good the Spurs offense would look with Curry bombing away from 3. Or with a real playmaker like Paul.

He's a great player, all-star and champion. Spurs wouldn't have won without him imo. BUT at the end of the day he's a PART of the system, not THE system in the way that Duncan, Robinson, and Gervin once were. When Parker leads the team in scoring it's similar to Rip Hamilton leading the Pistons in scoring in the mid 2000s (it's needed – but they get so much contribution from the whole squad).

How important is he? If Pop is smart, stick him on the bench 2nd half and the Spurs will win it.

He'll pick it up in the second half.

He's a good player but between the big 3, he benefited the most from Pop. If anything, Ginobili was held back some. Duncan is the GOAT PF, so...

Manu's legit. I've always maintained that the Spurs were a big two with Duncan and Ginobili. Parker doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as those two. I honestly think Horry/Bowen were more important to Spurs winning titles in the mid-2000s than TP.

He is such a ball hog - your shots not dropping tonight - give it up to some one else - he's still trying to get FMVP. Leonard's probably going to get it. The ball movement comes to a grinding stop when he has the ball. Then he dribbles down the clock and hands it to Manu with a few seconds left. Thank God Manu's on tonight.

Same shit as last year. Duncan and Leonard were efficient and dominating in game 6 and TP goes chucker mode trying to win Finals MVP. 6-23 that night.

0 for 8 attempts is not off game. I think half of it is wide open mid range too.

0-8 now. Last year he tried stealing Finals MVP from Duncan and cost the Spurs the title. Now he's trying to steal Finals MVP from Leonard. I'd be pissed if I was Kawhi right now.

Parker is great. The Heat are playing him and going under screens to keep him from penetrating and daring him to shoot the ball. He's just missing his shots. Up until tonight he was shooting over 53% for the series, and 45%+ from the three.

TP least important member of the the Spurs confirmed. Not even the best PG on his own team:

22 pts on 70% - Leonard
19 pts on 60% - Ginobili
17 pts on 60% - Patty Mills(Parker's backup)
14 pts on 56% - Duncan
04 pts on 16% - Parker

Even with all that statpadding, KL is still leading in scoring.

Leonard should win it. I would fine with Timmy, too. But Leonard was the best and most important player this series.
