Assuming he's willing to take a pay cut, how would he fit?

Gasol on the spurs would be absolutely amazing! another big that can pass like a guard. the ball movement would be amazing!

I think you make Gasol come off the bench. At his age now and Duncan's, it's just more beneficial for them to share minutes and be fresh. Look how it worked out this year. Start Duncan at C, Diaw at PF. Have Gasol come off the bench and play PF and Splitter backup C. That way you always have your PF who can spread the floor. In between rotations you could have Duncan at C and Gasol at PF sometimes.

Duncan/Splitter
Diaw/Gasol
Leonard/Belinelli
Green/Ginobili
Parker/Mills

Their whole bench rotation would be foreign players...Brazil, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Australia...

He'd need to take a paycut

He's going to take a paycut anyway. He just made $19 million. There's no way he's even making even in the same ballpark this next season.

He's 33, turning 34 in July.

He improved this season compared to last season, but he still only shot 48% from the field which is not great for a 7 footer. He's played 14 NBA seasons and has shot below 50% 3 of them, he's shot below 50% the last two years...

He still has a couple years at least of good basketball in him if he's healthy, but I would expect something like 13-15/8 in limited minutes. Spurs would be a great choice if he's looking to compete and get plenty of rest for the playoffs.

no pun intended

Yes please. I've been saying he should and will for a long time already. It's too perfect of a fit.

Pau Gasol is an ideal fit in San Antonio and would, honestly, be a frightening thought for the rest of the league going into next season.

Even though his efficiency has started to drop in Los Angeles due to age and a lack of overall support due to injuries, we all know his efficiency and effectiveness would almost immediately improve in San Antonio's system and surrounded by that type of talent. We also know that Gregg Popovich would carefully manage his minutes to keep him fresh for the playoffs.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

Yes. I've brought this up on here before. He should be the guy the Spurs go after this summer if they plan on bringing back the same team. They need one more big like Gasol. He'd be a great fit on the Spurs coming off the bench with Diaw. And he could give Duncan some real breaks. When Duncan misses games, Gasol could start.

C: Splitter/Gasol
PF: Duncan/Diaw
SF: Leonard/Belinelli
SG: Green/Ginobili
PG: Parker/Mills/Joseph

Didn't Gasol whine about coming off the bench for LA last year? Why would he suddenly change his mind now.

If you don't think Pau would still be considerably better than splitter you should want him that bad.

Unless he is significantly healthier, he wouldnt start for this team and may be a worst fit than Splitter. I don't know if he gets that much playing time. He isn't a good defender and isn't a great finisher of plays anywhere on the floor anymore. He would look good at times but i think signing Diaw would be more important.

He'd be a perfect fit and Pop will have him playing less minutes to preserve his legs.

If he wants a legit chance at winning another championship, that would be one of his best chances. Also, he'd have large role on the Spurs. He wouldn't just be a random bench player. He'd really help out Duncan and they could each give each other breaks in the season.

Spurs would likely change the starting line up depending on who the match up with.

We'd probably lose Bonner and Baynes, which would be a damn shame.

Why couldn't it be Errors?

No way. Ayres or Daye would be the first to go, no doubt. Baynes has loads of potential, and Bonner is useful in certain situations.

Nah, he signed a two year deal last offseason. The Spurs have no remaining FAs. Ayres is definitely the worst big man on the roster, even behind Bonner who doesn't play big :lol . I really like Daye, he showed signs during the second half of the regular season last year. His stroke is sweet too.

With the lack of roster spots moves like the Bryce Cotton signing really confuse me, unless they plan on keeping him on the Toros the entire first year.

I read somewhere that spurs also plan to use there ble on someone 2M/season.. Could that be bonner or baynes? Idk they could still maybe add another rotation player

He'd be a ridiculously good fit there but I can't see him taking whatever money they can scrape together
