What's your point? The Spurs have a bunch of role players that are held together by the Popovich system.

No one looks particularity impressive.

The dude is a system player who looked great in the Finals because everyone looks good against Lebron.

Last 3 games of the Finals:

24/9/2/2/2 on 82% TS with elite defense, 3 straight wins.

He showed up when it mattered most.

to our credit, we never left anyone. we stuck with him and the other role players almost exclusively...and to our detriment at times unfortunately.

We made Parker/Manu make all the plays...and forced Timmy/Splitter to finish.

It was almost good enough too....those games 1 and 5 really could have gone either way in crunch time.

I'm surprised more teams didn't adopt the strategy. The Spurs don't function nearly as well when you make Parker/Manu do so much. It's the ball movement that kills you....just don't help and force Parker to make a lot of jumpers....and switch everything to force this.

Have no clue why Spo didn't try more of that.

Yeah he's decent, but he was Monta's little ho in the first round.

This. There was one game where Danny Green was driving and making it, but I would have made that the standard. Dont help on anyone and go under the screens. Spurs ball movement is just to good.

If they beat you by isos, so be it.

Of course. He went up against the guy who made Paul George and [insert name of anyone on 08-09 Magic] look like MJ.

Weird... it's almost as if the award is for how you play in the Finals only, and not a playoff award.

Strange indeed.
