I think Oden was in case they got desperate for size on Hibbert. Oden would have failed against the Spurs though. He would have got in foul trouble trying to follow Duncan's footwork and especially due to slow rotations with the Spurs passing. Meanwhile, he doesn't spread the floor like Bosh or Birdman (who stands back and runs up last second even though he is not a jump shooter), which clogs the paint for a driving LeBron or Wade.

Yeah, he definitely should have gotten minutes, especially the way how nobody besides Lebron can buy a bucket, and it's not like the ones that played were stopping the Spurs at all.
