I can't put Wilt in any respective top 10, I can't put Bird over Duncan now, not with Duncan breaking tons of all-time playoff records, nabbing a 5th ring, and already having 3 Finals MVPs and 2 Regular season MVPs.

They're more impressive than a lot of players. I find Hakeem very difficult to rate actually because while his career achievements don't warrant anything above the bottom part of the top ten, I rate his peak as being amongst the very best of the modern era in terms of what he gave you on both ends of the floor, his playoff runs and performances and the circumstances of winning his titles. To do it without an All-Star caliber teammate is pretty incredible, as is taking the lowest seed ever to one in a repeat bid. He was also matched with and outplayed top tier contemporaries at his position, won MVP, DPOY and FMVP in the same year. It's amazing stuff and the eye test? Forget about it.

I never saw Russell and Wilt play, plus they played in a league that had anywhere from 8-10 teams. Players had 2nd jobs during those days because the salaries were so low. The talent pool was minimal. I will pay them respect by putting them at the bottom of my top 10, though.

About not having an all star teammate.

Clyde was all nba in 95

Hakeem also had years with Barkley & Drexler & 97 was a disappointment (although..that's on Barkley IMO)

I'd like to know how Hakeem is ahead of Wilt. You can't use playoff success in the case of Hakeem, because he didn't have better success than Wilt. As for dominance, there's no contest here. Wilt led the league more times in more categories than anyone in history.

So no, Hakeem doesn't get put over Wilt. Shaq shouldn't either, but at least he has a better case.

Because Wilt played in a league of 8-10 teams and the talent pool was abysmal.

No All-Star in '94.

I'm not trying to take anything away from Hakeem, he's a great player and those were some really good runs.

But with the 3peat defending champion bulls losing Jordan, it brings it down a little IMO. But there wasn't anything Hakeem could do about that.

I just can't see that 94 team beating a MJ led bulls, I say this because I factor that 99 lockout with the 3peat defending chhampion bulls not being together to defend their title because of it, when I consider the 99 champions.

Hakeem is top 10 in my book tho

Things for the kids to remember:

-Shaq pulled off a 3-peat with 3-consecutive Finals MVPs. That's been done by one other player. Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

-While Hakeem did win back-to-back (while the man was away) he also lost in the 1st round of the playoffs 8, yes this is true, 8 times.

-LeBron won back-to-back Finals MVPs and has 4 regular season MVPs. Only one other player has achieved this: Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

While what you said about Lebron is true he still only has 2 titles not enough for top ten 11-15 but his career is not over yet so he could get there.

Easily.

But if LeBron got knocked out of the 1st round 8-times then I'd change my mind. As of now, don't think LBJ will do that though.

LeBron James has 2 finals MVPs, do you know who else does?

Kobe Bryant, Hakeem Olajuwon, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlin...etc.

See a trend here? lol If LeBron was ever on a team that was good enough to where he didn't need to be the best player on his team, well then that's just icing on the cake. But in terms of who was "the man" with Finals MVPs, alot of the all-time greats only have 2. You can't knock Bron for not having a teammate good enough to actually win a series and be better than him. Just means he obviously didn't have good enough teammates to have that happen.

As always, majority have Magic in their top 5, but dude barely played defense by choice.

It's basically a mentality of... "why play defense when I'm part of an offense that can just outscore you"

It's not that he was a bad defender, but he played on an incredibly fast pace and was too big to catch smaller guys.
Magic was a fine defender in the post and even against bigger perimeter guys, though he did not try that much on D as it wasn't in the team's DNA. And you can't blame it for that really, 5 rings speak for themselves.
