Question, if Bosh opts in, can't the Heat just trade him for nothing to a team with cap space? Plenty of teams would take him. And with that possibility looming they could just straight up tell Bosh that beforehand so then Bosh would just opt out so he can pick his next destination. Then the Heat will have the cap space to go after someone like Melo. Am I missing something here?

You cant just trade for nothing.

I was under the impression salaries had to be within a certain percentage of each other

That's if teams don't have cap space. If a team has cap space to absorb a contract they could. That's basically the way the Bulls and Rockets are planning on creating cap space.

Assuming he doesn't have a no-trade clause in his contract.

Anything is possible.

I can tell you now that none of the big 3 will be traded unless they asked to be traded.

So Brian Windhorst has been saying over the past few days that he doesn't see why Bosh wouldn't opt out so he can have the power of controlling wherever he goes and not run the risk of getting traded somewhere that he might not want to go, which is what would happen if he opts in. Basically exactly what I said.

It's funny how all these lebron fans have been belittling and berating bosh these playoffs (actually the whole season if you wanna dive in further), but when someone makes a thread saying bosh can potentially be traded, their butt hurt against the idea begins to show. what fcking children.
